Hey guys and gals... when in the command screen - when you run a sat scan all the enemies show up for a second or two... heres my question. When you spot the enemy, does it show up on the map if he is still "glowing" in the command screen? In the last couple rounds I've noticed that if I spot a guy that I located with the sat scan - his position icon doesnt blink at all, and he fades away at the same rate as the scan... but if I turn around and spot him again after the scan has faded, his position blinks on the map, and it seems that any teammates near him instantly turn towards who I just spotted.

it seems I can spot someone numerous times while the scan is still running... but noone on my team ever sees him untill I spot him after the scan is over.

Hmm, I haven't noticed that, I always assumed that everyone could see the first spotting. My reasoning behind this is that whenever I am playing other than commander and I hear the commander saying, "Enemey spotted" I look at my radar map and find the spot.

Yes, you are correct that when you spot, directly after a scan, it does not show in anyone's mini-map, making it useless. You have to wait a few seconds for it to fade before spotting it. Then it will show up. Otherwise you are just creating useless and annoying chatter.

That would explain why I hear enemy spotted and nothing is on the minimap

you can even spot when there is no sat scan, just click on a spot and spot, if there is an enemy it WILL show up. or you can zoom when in commander and see them without sat-scan, and spot as well.

Scans only show you the enemies location...which is why you constantly see/hear COMPETENT commanders calling out enemy locations....


when you see the blurry red dots after a scan...right click them and select spotted...then they'll show up on your teams mini-maps

nope, I wish it would work that way, you need to wait for the red spots caused by the scan to disappear then click the general area to spot..if you do it right after the scan it won't go.

It's true - you have to wait until the red fuzz disappears before you can spot them for your team. Otherwise the commanders would be able to point out where all the enemies are ALL THE TIME. This way it takes good commanders to spot them all. Good question.

Thanks for the help guys. I knew all about the zooming in and spotting... It makes me wish I could be in more places at once though. I kinda feel bad for not noticing the scan/nonspot phenomenon until now... I admit that I am guilty of repeating a spot a few times too many before today.

i personally like to spot birds for my team...yet my team doesn't seem to appreciate birds as much as me.

I have had a few odd occasions with the UAV recently. I was commander and did UAV and it picked up 5 enemies but to my clan mates they could only see 2 flashing in the UAV path.

Same again 5 mins later I could see 4 they could only see 1.

I have heard rumors that spec ops are invisible to UAV or the scan if they stand still......can anyone confirm this ?

yeah i know...thats why i said after the scan not during the scan.....
