What's the deal with this rank??? I have all the criteria but still haven't rec'd it. On two tracker websites it shows I'm 55% toward next rank and another says73% towards Master Sargeant. I'm totally confused.

First Sergent is basically a bonus rank that you get when you have all basic badges before promotion to Master Sergent -

It's a common enough question Boomstick. However you need to meet all the criteria before you reach the 20,000 points to become First Sergeant, if you meet the criteria after 20K it's too late. So it's bascially a fork in the road at 20K points, if you have all the criteria you become First Sergeant if not you just go on to Master Sergeant.Comment

Like Scinto said. However the way the stats sites represent this stuff can be misleading. I knew I had to earn all the Basic Kit and Knife/Pistol badges etc before I reached 20K in order to get First Sergeant. However BF2S.COM was the only site at the time that told me I was eligible for "First Sergeant" as I had met the requirements. BFHQ and all other Stat sites at the time told me that my next rank was going to be just "Master Sergeant". However when I received 20K I was promoted to First Sergeant as expected.Originally posted by boomstick68

you will see that you are coming up on another fork in the road, once you reach 50K points it shows two possibilties for you, you will either be promoted to "Master Gunnery Sergeant" or if you fulfill the requirements in the meantime you will be promoted to "Sergeant Major" Fortunately for you this time it seems you already meet all the basic requirements so Sergeant Major will be yours.

i couldnt see the date u were promoted to master sergeant but u only received your basic knife on mar 7.....my guess is u dint get that til after reaching 20k, therefore, no advanced rank for u. It sucks cos the icon for 1st sergeant is much cooler and more noticeable than master sergeant (the only reason i went for it), and u end wearing that rank for soooo long (until 50k)Comment
