Alright, I made a couple of threads in general about this but now it's really getting to me and I'm coming for help here.
Here's the story:
I never had a problem with installing, running or patching BF2, SF, and EF. The day 1.22 became official I downloaded it (through EA downloader) and installed it. It installed fine (no error messages of any sort) I start BF2 and instead of the usual 5 second delay when your screen goes black and then the screen goes to the EA challenge everything logo the black screen hung there for around 15 minutes (at this point in time I just had my fingers crossed that the game would start) as the 15 minutes passed, finally the EA logo pops up, movie starts etc. But when I try to login into BFHQ the red bf2 icon spins for about 5/10 minutes and it says can't connect to the main server. Fastforward to today, 3 uninstalls, reg cleans, re-installs later I still get the same problem. Keep in mind, I have NEVER had a problem before in over 600+ hours of playing time. I desperately need help and I don't want to do the EA customer support runaround. I've tried everything, getting rid of the movies etc... Everytime I patched BF2 I did incrementals, on two of the three re-installs I did it all in one shot (the whole patch to 1.22) on the third I tried doing it incrementally - nothing works... In any case I need any kind of opinions/suggestions on a possible resolution to my dilemma. I'd hate to ditch bf2 all together. Much appreciated guys.
