Whats your set up and settings you play in???

well im doin this post because my friend is having really bad preformance with his set up and i juss wanted to see everyones set up and mabye some of u guys might play round the same set up and juss wanted to compare. well his set up is

ASUS dont know the model motherboard
AMD xp 2200 running at 1.96
1 gig ram 3200 speed
6600gt 128MD DDR3 AGP
430 watt PSU
Audigy 2
and has the most current drivers on nvidias website.

his settings he plays in which i dunno how he does is 1024 by 768 everythin one high cept for texures medium and AA off and he get rouns 10-30 fps avg i saw on him is like 20 im like how do u play like that.

my brother pretty much has the same set up as my friend cept for AMD xp 2000 running at 1.8.

And i would think with that set up he should be getting at least a little better preformace. what you all think might be the problem?????

hmm i was testing my own last night with everything on high, AA x6 & the FR was low i changed my resolution to 800*600 and works like a dream now, maybe something to consider?

AGP version.

(and he did ask what our setup was and how it played..)

Try lowering some eye candy graphics options such as lighting, dynamic shadows, dynamic light and AA to medium or low. Should boost your framerates without sacrificing much in the way of visuals

Tell him to lower everything to medium, a 660GT isn't really enough to run with everything on high.

definitely turn most of the settings down to medium, dynamic lighting and shadows can go to low with very little image quality loss. That processor is also a bit on the slow side, so I would suggest not trying to play on servers with a bunch of people in them. He might be able to get decent gameplay on 40-man servers, but probably not too much over that.

its stange cause my girlfriend has the same 6600gt but runs one a 3200 amd 64 1 gig ram and she can run it at 1280 by 960 everything on high cept textures medium and AA 2x and gets 30-50 fps. does the CPU make that much of a difference

I play at everything maximum, 4xaa, and sometimes even 8x AA (using the nvidia control panel).

specs in the sig... I run everything at medium settings with 2x AA.
