when i first got and installed BF2, and in all the subsequent patches i could map all the keys i needed for the different functions in common/land/air/helo/boat controls. specifically i had left shift as crouch, and as afterburner for jets
i recently had to uninstall and reinstall and now in 1.22 it wont let me map left shift to anything, the game keeps insisting that it is overlapping with other control sections, but even when i clear the 'left shift' key from all other sections it still insists it is in conflict with a key under helicopter controls. I even tried completely un-binding all the keys from all the helo controls and it still complains (except for the mouse axis binds).
anyone else have a problem like this? and is there any way to fix it? ive uninstalled/reinstalled twice now and it still wont let me.
though i dont think i actually tried binding it the way i want before installing the 1.22 patch, but what the hell are the developers doing if they cant get simple key-mapping coded right.
