    Voip

WHy dont more peple use voip? I noticed alot of clanners use teamspeak or vent but WHy dont the non-clanners use voip? I found some guys in KAW the other night who were using it. we made a squad and had a great time. helped me get corporal in short order. OUr squad got best squad nearly every round.
We were capping flags left and right and taking out enemy armor like it was candy from a baby. I was AT then the other guys were medic, engie, and spec-ops, worked great. We were picking up each others kits when we died to revive and repair and take out enemy armor/uav trailers.
    Man that was fun.

    GG'z mr.fatboy and livious.

    Re: Voip

I use VOIP if other people are in my squad usually are using it.
Sometimes I don't really want to talk to some people or I just forget to use it.

can't stand voip sometimes. most of the time the squad leader and some of the members aren't even talking about the game. Plus half the time I'm in a squad, don't know what the hell there saying.

My clan uses TS, but I often end up with odd ball conficts between it and the ingame voice. Faced with a choise between the two, I prefer (and usually go with) the in-game.

              Why?

Because it's better organized, I know that when I speak my squadmates can hear me, and people are often totally blown away when I'm commanding and actually talking to the SLs.

i use the voip most of the time....in teamspeak i never know who is talking since the clan server i play on usually has 10-15 people on TS on the same channel.

i don't use VOIP because I'm too cheap to get a headset with a mic. Pluse other guys just ruin the atmosphere of the game when they are on the the USMC or Navy or SAS and speak with a heavy Chinese accent. Plus there's this guy that keeps yelling in German and no one has any idea what he's talking about.

Hehe... this reminds me of an amusing little event that happened shortly after I'd first started playing the game.

There was an odd voice that kept coming up speaking chiniese. Sounded female... but it could have been a young male who's hadden't reached "the age" yet. Anyway, I couldn't figure out why this person kept talking. Everyone else was using english and there' were no other obviously asian names on the server. Then it dawned on me... he/she was responding to the built in macro/command voices! Apparently, they thought that voice was another player... and not just a game function!

Apparenlty n00bs come in all nationalities and languages.

What issues does it cause? When i run TS it lagged the game like crazy so i had to turn off ingame VOIP. Kind of ****ed off at that really, but id rather be able to communicate properly with my clan than strangers :p.

It's perty random, but sometimes one will cause the other to become a big ball of static when I try to use it. Apparently, earspliting in nature.

Also, TS uses more computer resources and bnadwidth than the in-game. Not really a big deal unless you're right up against the wall hardware wise... like I am. :|:

And finally, in my case it's not a choise between being able to talk to 'mates OR talk to strangers. With TS I can talk to mates. With in-game, I can talk to mates AND everyone else. Makes the desision rather obvious.

Ah ok. I wish more people would use Vent, never have issues with that :p. Id love to find a way around this lag that TS and ingame VOIP cause.

I love Voip, I usually use it unless I forget. Had a similar experience to yours, where we all talked, stuck together, and rocked the enemies face off.

If I could get the VOIP to work, I would use it. Have to settle for text or Teamspeak, which works fine.
