High Pings

I saw a similar post to this one regarding high pings after installing the new patch. There really were no comments on it, though I cant imagine there are so few of us who now cant play.

Are many of you now having high pings (mine were 65 now 110 on favorites)

I am playing on a dell 3.4 HT
HIS Radeon x800GTO
1.5 gigs of ram

Everything was fine till this new patch, now it takes me around 2 minutes to update servers most of which are 400ms pings.

I thought it was my rig, so I logged on to COD and MYTH2 to check out the pings there and they were normal, its only BF2 which is now having a issue.

If any of you can direct me to a fix or let me know anything that you know of this it would be greatly appreciated. I have put a good deal of time into this game and it was just getting to be fun................

sort of a shot in the dark but try updating punkbuster manually

Yeah, im having the same problem. Pings that used to be 40-70 are now 200 and above. *throws stuff at the wall*

I would have thought that after a couple days there would be a whole bunch of responses.

Is it just a few having these complications?

You got firewall? If so, pls check if it's resstricting BF2 to access the web?

Yep me too, the majority of my small post count on these forums are about my ping suffering after updates lol.

Last time i got a patch it happened, couldn't play, i assumed it was because my fav server had updated to 28man from 20, but kinda strange strange since before id found that server to be v good id played allsorts as in 30-40player servers.

But anyway i gave up and then randomly checked again maybe 2 weeks later and everything was fine.

Same again now, my 2 fav servers of usually around 20-30ping, im getting 150-200 and its poo. Can't play.

Also the server update as you said takes forever..?... ive updated punkbuster but nope... i have no idea what to do

I keep coming back to this site in hopes to find a solution to this problem and still have not found anything that works.

If anyone has had this problem and can add anything to this that may help it would be appreciated.
