8x AA?

I was wondering if BF supports 8x AA. I have mine at 4 right now, but if you can edit the video.con file to support higher, why not? Does it really work or will it auto set itself back to 4x...kinda like trying to get beyond Ultra_high and really it will only just go to Level 4. Would it help if I set it higher in my Nvidia software?

When I searched the forum, I saw some discussion about upping the AS. What is that?

anistropic? is that what u mean by AS? its been out for a while its a type of filtering sorta, it aligns lines or something.

you cannot make the AA higher in BF2 manually. for nvidia cards it goes up to 4x and ATI is 6x.

BUT, you CAN change it in the Nvidia drivers. just click the profile and change the AA to x8 if you want, or change it in the global driver settings and load up the game (remember to apply and save the settings). remember that this will cause more drop in FPS and slow down. I get like70fps with 4x aa, and I tried 16x aa and I got about 10 fps. but yes, do it in the nvidia drivers.
