BF2 demo problem?

I finally got into making a demo for myself, so i read up on some posts and i made a short single player demo. [demo.recorddemo tester] So i started battlelauncher and i did find it. But when i try to record a demo with a diffrent name online, it tells me i " Cannot Record As Client"

.....Whats the problem and how can i fix it?

Online dosnt work since your not the host of the server (as in your single player game).

You will have to have rcon admin in the server with all that jazz, or find a bf2 server that has bf recorder enabled and just download the file under community when you are finished.

Ive tried playing on BF2 servers with battle recorder... but when i go to community, nothing shows up.


So if i play on a bf2 server with battle recorder, i can now use demo.recorddemo ?

No, demo.recorddemo only works if you are hosting the server..

If you have admin, its rcon exec demo.recorddemo

Also, be aware of some bf2 servers that bfr enabled actually set it up wrong and you are not able to download them.. And usually most servers dont have bfr enabled anyways..

not sure if it makes a difference because I never have any problems since my server does it for me but the command is demo.recordDemo with a captial D. Not sure if that matters. Eitherway depending on the kind of video you want to make you may just be better off going into a server with demos working.

Damn... most servers ive seen with battle recorder enabled are over a hundred ping for me. Well thx for the help, if i actually do get it to work and download it from the community section, will i still be able to luanch it through BattleLauncher?
