stuck on black screen with music playing after login

Hi, I'm posting for a friend.

he just bought a new video card. He had bought the ATI 256mb 9250 PCI card. He launches BF2 then it plays the video and he sees the video just fine. When he goes to login, his monitor turns off then turns back on, then it goes to black screen, but he can still hear the music. I know for a fact that this video card supports BF2 cause of the fact that he could see the video.

Any other suggestions or theorys on how we can fix this so he can play the game?

Sounds like the firewall is preventing the game from connecting to the login servers. Check for the bf2.exe file in the firewall config and allow it access to send and receive using the internet connection.
