    points structure

Ok it came up again in another thread so I thought it would been interesting to readdress the point structure. I put on my thinking cap and revisited it again in my mind and added a couple ideas.

    infantry: 1 point
    commander: 2 points
    assets: 3 points
transport ground/sea vehicle : 1 point (must be occupied by at least 1 person)
transport helo: 2 points ( must be occupied by at least 1 person)
    APC: 3 points "
    Tank: 4 points "
    Fighter jet: 5 points "
    Bomber: 6 points "

so it works like this: kill tank with 1 person in it = 6(tank) + 1(infantry inside tank) = 7 points for tank kill

Flag nuetralize: 1 point + points for the kills
Flag capture: 2 points + points for the kills
Flag defense: 1 point + points for the kills

Capturing a flag when your team has none 10 points ( I rate this high because you are usually outnumbered and without this capture your team looses the game.

Defending you last flag 5 points

    All assists 1 point

Although as my stats will verify I do not play for points I play for objectives I think differnt contributions to the teams deserve differnt rewards. I mean a bomber cam kill way more of your team than a single infantry man in one strike so shouldnt it be worth more to kill?

    what does everyone else think?

    Re: points structure

Some cool ideas here. Getting extra points for fighting off flag defenders while capping a flag would be cool too, divided by the number of people capping a flag. So if you're going rambo capturing a flag and slaughtering wave after wave of enemy you'd get tons of points.

So those are all kill points right? Interesting idea. That is not very many points for flag capture though. I have seen other threads where people want points for spotting people, taking a dump, I mean you name it! Let's just play the game. I do agree it would be nice to at least get a team point or two as anti-tank when I take out a tank or apc....

yes and you reminded me of one i forgot... you should get points for damaging occupied vehicles....how many times have you gone AT damaged a tank badly making it retreat saving a flag and recieved no pionts..kinda frustrating...

Sometimes you do not get anything win you assist with the cremanation of a tank as an AT , but it sure is fun to watch them panic

            Re: points structure

There is a point (hee hee) where it seems like it would get a little complicated with all of this....I mean, how many conditions can we think of that may warrant an extra point? A LOT! Heck I want a point for spawning! And while I am at it, I want a point for every person I run over in a jeep!

and your mechanics should get a point for washing the body parts off the jeep after you turn the jeep back into the motorpool

                Re: points structure

                To make it really simple:

Bombers carry a 5 point price tag. Take one out, with a rider get 10 points. No matter who takes it out, you get the points.
Fighters and helos 4 points per takedown. Perhaps with these numbers pilots will stay in the air longer hunting other air, instead of swooping in for a few cheap kills at a flag against infantry?
Tanks 3 points. With a rider, thats 6 potential points. Again, dont matter who takes it out. Perhaps this would make bombers hunt these alittle more, same with helos.
Apc 2 points per person killed in them. Again, dont matter who or what takes them down.
                Infantry One point per kill.
Flag white outs: 2 points. Flag caps, 3 points. Flag defense, 2 points.
Nades/c4 against infantry, nothing. If you must spam these at a flag you do so to get your squad closer to the objective of capturing it, not to just mindlessly spam nades for points ........right? No longer can you toss 4 nades and get, maybe 8 kills. Oh you might get 8 kills ifyour lucky, you just aint getting points for them.
Perhaps with such an emphasis on points regarding flags, folks will play a bit harder concerning them.
With a higher price tag on tanks, you might find tanks actually fighting tanks, more often. As well as make them a very tasty target for bombers and helos. And with helos and bombers paying more attention to vehicals, AA might be come more dangerous as pilots start to lose track of it, a bit. I mean, all they are gonna get is 1 point for an infantry kill, and big points for shooting down another helo, or taking out that apc.
The end result in a perfect world is this:
Infantry might be faced with less vehical spamming.
Air might actually be up in the air fighting.
Tanks might actually be fighting other tanks.
I mean if an apc wants to spam the hotel on karky and get 50 kills, great. Have a nice 50 points. But if the enemy tanker wacks his buddies and himself even a few times, without killing any infantry excpet the armor he can easily surpass that 50 by the spammer.
A bomber will now look at tasty armors versus a few guys at a flag. Helos might find that tank a bit more tasty and hunt it down with all thier might....etc etc. etc.
Then again...........its EA............its in the game.
