    I want my BF2 back!

Never had any technical issues with BF2, until I installed 1.22. Now whenever I try to start up BF2 it takes about 10 minutes for the EA splash to come up and after that I can't connect to BFHQ at all. I reinstalled twice with the same results. Just for curiosity's sake I tried to just patch it up to 1.21 and everything works fine but obviously 99% of all servers are running 1.22... Can anyone offer and suggestions or recommendations as to what I should do? I am figuring I have wait until 1.3...?

    thanks for any help

    Have you checked your firewall?

I did... I don't think that's what the problem is because I can reinstall everything and patch to 1.21 and it works fine...

rename your intro files or remove them then you wont have to wait so long for teh EA splash screen.

          C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Movies

teh only ones you need to keep are menu.bik and menuloggedin.bik

but be warned everytime a patch comes out you will need to put them back teh way they were or you will get patching failed.

This is a good thing to do.
However, you don't have to keep the menu.bik and menuloggedin.bik files, I've played since retail without any files in that folder. Also, you don't need to put them back when patching, I've never done that, and the patches has always worked perfectly for me. No need to do the extra work :)

Take those 2 out, they're the ****ty ones that play behind everything when the menu screens come up... it will be just gray otherwise

i dont think that is exactly true. I have yet to change my movies back to the original names for any patches. I have had no failed patches from doing this. Then again, i dont have to have the disk in or have a image mounted to play the game either. The no disk/image thing started after i got the SF from EA.
