Re: Importing The Grappling Hook From BF2:SF to BF2

ANY SF map crashes during "Objects" loading. The regular BF2 maps load successfully with no problem.

I only modified the files of each US class, each of which plays just fine (with the extra tools) in regular BF2 maps only.

Which SF tools or weapons did you tweak?
What index # did you give them?

Could be a conflict between the SF kits trying to use a tool/weapon who's index got changed incorrectly. Most kits have 6, 7, and 8 available as unassigned. However, some do use the #6 index as default.

Hmm... the weapons key arrangement I have now is all default. And I modified the grappling hook and crossbow 7 & 8, respectively, just as you did.

Still haven't found a solution myself yet...

Okay, you are correct. My mod suggestion is only for playing BF2 maps/armies with SF tools such as grapple hook and crossbow.

You can not play SF maps with this mod configuration.

Are you trying to get SF armies/weapons (not tools) into BF2 maps? If so, then view this thread:

If you want to play SF only then you will have to just play the xpack mod

Okay, gotcha! I originally thought it was impossible to play SF maps through BF2, but the maps' visible presence using your mod suggestion led me to believe it was possible to actually play them.

I just liked the idea of having a grappling hook/crossbow for all classes in all maps. :) BTW, this DID work on singleplayer maps such as Bocage 2005, etc.

            Thanks for your clarification, FFOLKES!
