      Ha ha, we'll see!

I'm going to try it, too, so I'll be sure to let you know how things go at my end ...

Again, great work on this video! I really enjoyed both 1nsane and the CRC video, too, so I'm already looking forward to the next project from you and Jevus.

After seeing Kahlid's Surpsise i am also looking forward to another video from you, loved it (very slow download though, 5-10kb/s). How did you get the helicopter in the water?

Thanks, sMull! Glad you enjoyed it, although I'm sorry about the slow download. I really should update the sig; there's at least five mirrors now and I just found out that it's featuring on the front page of Machinima.com, too.

The helicopter part was actually quite easy! Just a continuation of the demo playback beyond its natural end-point. Whilst flying the helo, I made a point of slowly descending toward the water right before entering the 'demo.stopRecording' command. Then, when the playback of the bf2demo ended, I pressed '2' and the helo continued downward (as an extrapolation of the last recorded engine events). In other words, it was just a matter of filming the 'descent' footage and reversing it within Premiere Pro. Getting a realistic sound effect was the hard part because I had no 'real-world' reference points for that kind of thing. :)

By the way, you should definitely submit your work to Machinima.com. There's also a fantastic French website devoted entirely to BF2 machinima called MovieFactory. Here's the link:

I would highly recommend submitting it there, too! The administrator of the site speaks English and I'm sure he wouldn't hesitate to put your movie on the front page. After all, it is a fantastic piece of work.

Thank you for the links, but i am unable to register on Machinima's forums. I click register, click on "i agree and i'm over 13", and the next page that loads tells me that the username is taken, and i have not even entered any details.

That was awesome. Only thing that could be done better was graphic quality.

Like I said, though, I've never actually tested it myself. For all I know, it might be ridiculously time-consuming and laborious, in which case those of us keen on smooth camera movement might as well continue using a mouse and filming in slow-mo.
If you were talking about testing shooting in a higher resolution then creating a camera movement then i can tell you a bit about it. Its quite usefull, i always film in a resolution bigger than my project resolution, just so i have that option to mess around with. It helped countless times.. The best example i have of it is when i recorded some stationary shots knowing that i want it "jittery" but not risking trying to get the perfect jitter in fraps. There are also other situations this can be usefull in, so I reccomend their techinque and not risking doing jitters in the actual video file. Its only time consuming if you want it to be. For the most part, if you are going to do the whole movie in that style, you will probibly be better off actually shaking the mouse instead.. But for certian shots or specific shots, you might be better off doing it in the editing process. It all depends on alot of elements, so use your judgement..

Anways, great movie sMull! This is the type of movie i wish i see more often in bf2. Even though it is short and a simplistic plot, its visually satisfying.. Good work!

Definitely sounds like a technique worth learning, Keyelite. I'm going to try it out during the week to see what sort of results I can get.

Not working for me, codec doesn't work.

I will upload an XVID version as well then, for those having problems.

                          EDIT: Done

Hey, sMull! Earlier this evening, I showed your movie to my sister and she thought it was great, too! The beginning, in particular, really cracked her up ...

Do you have any plans to do another BF2 video?
