@ IndianScout, as far as the knife/pistol only things go, is it ok if everyone on the server decides to screw around for a match and only use pistols and knives, so long as it isnt an enforced rule?

What's ridiculous is that we pay $250 a month for our server AND have to follow these incredibily lame rules.

I mean we pay for it, therefor we should be able to do whatever the hell we want on the server.

The fact that IndianScout even has a job shows us whats wrong with "stats"

So since HIGH POINTS server are illegal how come they have been runing since day one??? So i dont believe all this ROE crap rules. That or they are not being enforce.

The fact is you CAN do whatever you want on your server - you just can't do whatever you want and expect them to give you stats for it. If you want to be able to have a RANKED server, you have to make it public, and make it fair for everyone. I don't see why that's a problem. If you want to go pistol/knife only or whatever, then you can go unranked and they don't care.

I pay $250 a month for my car and taxes to keep the roads in repair. Does that mean I should be able to do what ever I want in my car? NO!

It's a 64 player server with a max limit of players set very low ie 16-20. Rounds on a server like that last very long so your end score is substantialy higher than on a server that would have 64 people on.

you must've been in that karkand server last night when i hijacked it and told everyone I was an admin and that the "knife/pistol" message was old and we are going to change it. Everyone started using guns and ****in off the knife/pistol stat-whores.

if you want a knife/pistol server - make it unranked and no one can touch you.

Having a longer round time hurts no one. We can all agree that badges mean **** other than a personal goal to acheive. So if you want to get badges the easy way than fine with me, no skin off my back. Stat padding, as in getting a boat load of points is a problem, because rank does affect the game, eg when applying for commander. So the point is, if I get 100 points in a 30 min round and 50 points in a 15 min round, what the hell does it matter. Sometimes it is nice to play a little longer and actually have a "war" and not just an all out sprint skirmish. With K&P server most tend to score less per minute than they can score in a normal server. Most people are just running around like idiots. The scores are high because it has been the same round for over 45 minutes. High round score is just a personal stat as well as awards. As far as I see it, overall score is the only stat that affects us all. I would consider an a-hole that sits in a tank all round and base camps a much greater offense than running around like a pansy with a knife for 45 minutes. I really do not understand why someone's stats would get whiped from going on a K&P server. They are only high points PER ROUND, not a better way to get points per minute. At the very most simply revoke any awards and ranks earned during the time in the "illegal" server. This could easily be done. Unless someone starts scoring 120+ points in a 10-15 min K&P round I don't see the harm. I have seen plenty of vehicle whores get 100+ points in 10 min rounds in "legal" servers. The biggest issue in BF2 is poor teamwork.
