§1.8 Players may not use or exploit game mechanisms to artificially boost their score ("stats padding") and Server administrators may not knowingly allow or encourage this activity on their servers.

This would include but not limited to:
§ Knife-Pistol-Revive
§ Knife-Pistol only Servers
§ Knife only Servers
§ High Points Servers
§ Infantry only Servers
§ No Artillery or Armour Servers
§ Using Vehicles removed from battlefield for purposes of artificially inflating points
§ Turning boats upside down and repairing
§ Glitching inside buildings.
§ Modifying game files for vehicles and weapons.
§ Items not included in this list would be up to EA & DICE to interpret.

The thing is that doesn't say NO PISTOL OR KNIFE SERVERS, it says ADMINS aren't allowed to ENFORCE pistol or knife servers.

So if everyone on the server sponaneously decides to use knives and pistols only, then they can. But they have no recourse if someone arrived in a tank and squishes them all.

Basicly, yeah.

Any server stating that it limits weapons is in violation of the RoE. Playing there is your choice. Since you choose to play on a server like that, you are actively participating in that violation.

I have no problem with a limited weapon server... they can be kinda fun.
They also MUST be unranked.

Edit: I should back up a little. Being caught on a pistol/kife server does NOT automaticly mean you will have your stats reset. It does mean that you are likely to go under the microscope. If inconsistancies (such as high BR scores, or high fav victem) are found, then you're in trouble.

In addition to what Wargimp stated:
When people report those servers they usually have a screenshot of the end round scoreboard. If your name is on there with a unusually high score then that is what prompts the microscope action. I would suggest not hanging around those servers at all. You don't have to report every single server like that you find, but just dont bother. You can kill plenty of smacktards on regular servers.

Sometimes it's not even the end of round screens being posted. Sometimes it's pick from the ingame borwser or even 3rd party web based server browsers.

Simply put: It's a very good idea to avoid those servers.

The R2s were even forced to kick a clanmate because he showed up with a very high score on one of those servers in a report. :\

The thing is, if it is a server that's advertising Kife and pistol only, according to the wording on EA's ROE, you can play there. You can also play on a normal server Kife and Pistol only, without advertising it.

The thins is their ROE say that an ADMIN is not allowed to ENFORCE this rule. So I can arrive on your K&P only server and shoot the crap out of you with my PKM, and you can't complain.

You can complain that I'm going against the spirit of the SERVER, but I'm complying with EA's ROE and if you kick or ban me, then YOU will get punished by EA.

Read the ROE carefully. No stats padders, and no admins encouraging .... Knife and pistol only servers.

It might be semantics, but the ROE do not say no knife and pistol only. They say no ENFORCED knife and pistol only.

Oh and while we are at it, whats the definition of a "High points server"?

well i for one enjoy the knife an pistol servers there great fun,
its very rare that you get people in tanks/apc's in these servers so it makes it alot of fun to play.
an before any says its just to get my badges P/K no its not i already have them an not from one of these servers.
at the moment im just tryin to find a explosives server to get my expert ordinance just kiddin on that one lol.

It says server admins may not "knowingly ALLOW OR ENFORCE" those activites - meaning if there is an admin on, they are required to say knife/pistol only is not allowed.

I joined one yesterday without realising it.
The entire server was knifing paddling and using pistols around the hotel flag (literally on it). Being so disgusted I ran into the point laid 5 C4 and blew the mofos up! Then left of course.

Does this mean im gna go under the micro scope just for being on the server?

It says servers CAN prohibit that use, but it is not a global RoE.

"These rules are decided by clan administrators for those servers and as long as they do not contradict any global rules enforced by EA are considered valid for those servers.

This would include but not limited to:
§ Artillery fire or bombing runs on main (uncapturable) bases may be prohibited.
§ Prolonged or sustained attacks on main (uncapturable) bases (i.e. spawncamping).
§ Using the Transport Helicopters to take flags (Blackhawk whoring or flag hopping).
§ Impersonating clan members.
§ Using C4 on jeeps, or other fast moving vehicles to take out other vehicles."
