Getting AI Units to "Dummy Mode" ... fool-proof way to cheat?

Well, I discovered this accidently. It's probably been done before, etc, and you probably already know it, but for those that don't (please don't be harsh on me, I'm new):

I paused the game. Then removed the CD from the drive and after a few minutes, put it back. After that, I unpaused it. (Actually I paused it, left it on overnight, then took it out, then put it back in and unpaused it. I'm guessing the time factor isn't too important.)

What happened is the enemy - only on singleplayer - the computer units wouldn't move or anything unless you shot at them first or they saw you. In other words, I was standing next to enemy units facing 90 degrees the other way. I started shooting them and THEN they started to notice me.

It's really boring when this happens but if you're losing your fight, you can do this to come out on top. Even capturing flags didn't affect them at all. I went and stole all their tanks, APCs, etc, and they didn't care.

Some units saw me and came after me, but really didn't shoot until I shot them.

This also worked after I disconnected from that game and started playing a different map. It lost its affect after restarting the entire game.

The only catch? Your units - ones that aren't human-powered, don't move either, unless they need a ride or get shot at as well. Also, if the enemy CPU units get in a vehicle, they will become fully active.

Anybody else can confirm this? I'm sure some of you have done it before... it just seems that the CD gives the AI units their intelligence.

    Cheers,
    -Matt
