Another unlock question

At the risk of getting flamed I'm going to ask a simple question:

I like playing Enginner and I already have the first unlok MK3A1. Curious on if the MP7 is really an upgrade or should I save it for the "almighty" PKM?

I'm leaning twoards the PKM just because I whore a vehicle whenever possible so as to avoid using these shotguns. Sometime it's just as easy to knife the enemy as to blow my cover missing with the shotgun.

But if someone says oh yes you must have MP7 if you play engineer then I'll consider it.

Better yet. Is there a way to try before I buy? I don't want to permanently modify my files so that I can't play ranked servers though.

Oddly, when I searched this forum for MP-7 it returnd no results.

Yeah I kinda also want to know the answer to this. Ive been told the new unlocks you can't actually unlock.

I have it and I must admit that I find the shotguns much more useful, there are times up close that you can just flat out spank a couple of people with it but the shotguns are better for that work, it does have a lot more range and you can go semi auto with it and try to shoot people at distance but I find it to be a very difficult chore to do so, if I could have it to do over I would have waited till the end to unlock the MP7 as well as the P-90 for that matter

Both seem like super fantastic weapons that you'd want to have, but they are not :0(

P.S. the PKM is not as good as they all say yo

I find the MP7 incredible for cutting down enemies at close and medium range

The other night on Songhua Stalemate we were capturing the main chinese flag and I bumped off about 10 people who kept spawning at the flag without dying because of the very short time it takes to kill someone with that gun

You need the special forces expansion pack to unlock the MP7 by the way (or a friend with it)

Search for the term "MP7" instead of MP-7 and you should get some results

I find the Mp7 to be a perty handy toy. It gives you a bit more flexibility to the kit. Basicly, it's an moderatly effective medium range weapon, and a perty good short ranger. I've found it best to soften a guy up at medium range, then try to draw him close to finish the job. Aim at the upper body, since you're more likely to land shots there and the spray will most likely make some of 'em headshots. Shotguns are more effective at point blank... but that extra bit of range has helped me out.

Same drill with the P90, BTW.

The PKM on the otherhand... it's me baby. I've been a PKM fan since the early days. I think it was my second unlock. With 1.22, it's no longer a fully auto-sniper weapon. The min dev increase means you can't spank 'em fer sure at long range, but with careful use you can still pull off some perty good distance shots. In the mid-long range, it's a monster. By far my favorite weapon for setting up a firing position and just doing damage. 2 PKMers setting up a crossfire can be a deadly thing.

Personal preferance: I'd say go with the PKM. I just find it's more fun to use.

you can test MP7 on any British maps for special forces....that is if you have special forces...

Depends on what class you like better. Personally I'd go with the MP7 because it gives you a med range weapon for engineer vs a close range one. Support you're just getting a better weapon that's it. Not to say the PKM isn't a blast, I love it. Just I think the MP7 might be more useful when someone takes YOUR tank and you need to run around a bit. lol
