Re: Strike at Karkand for Special Forces
Oh man, this looks awesome! I think that the choppers would ruin the map, though.
However, I think it would be really cool if someone made a mod for Karkand so we could use grappling hooks and ziplines on it. Imagine the possiblities. You could go anywhere. It would open the map up so much more.Comment

Re: Strike at Karkand for Special Forces
That is to be carefully considered. Grappling hooks and ziplines are great tools. In Karkand, there are many buildings of different height. They are dreams for those who like camping and sniping. IN Special Force, if you are on the Insurgent side, you go to the Helipad at the top fo the TV Station tower. Then fire off your ziplines to the next tallest building drop yourself on to that building's top. Awesome spot to kill adversaries without being retaliated. If this happens in Karkand, it will change the map's landscape completely!Originally posted by TITAN126However, I think it would be really cool if someone made a mod for Karkand so we could use grappling hooks and ziplines on it. Re: Strike at Karkand for Special Forces
I've been waiting for them to do this since I heard of SF..it would be so awesome to have all the SF features added to Karkand. It would add so much more depth to the map, plus more options for tactical flag capping and ways to get away from the armor whoresComment

Re: Strike at Karkand for Special Forces
True, but camping and sniping are part of the game. If you don't like getting camped, you should probably not be playing Battlefield games.Originally posted by BF2FreakThat is to be carefully considered. Grappling hooks and ziplines are great tools. Also, when people shoot off of the tops of the buildings in Warlord, it's pretty easy to kill them. You can get up there yourself if you want, or you can lay back by the first flag and wait for them to expose themselves. When they are up there, they expose themselves to an easy arty strike. Any good commander will take advantage of this. It's not really that much of a problem unless you are a noob.Comment

Re: Strike at Karkand for Special Forces
I haven't played Special Force for 2 days, bacause I have switched to Karkand. Just making a comparison. 2 thoughts which Karkands has enlightened me upon:
1) Each class has to be equipped with grappling hook or zipline.
2) Assault class should be credited for faster flag capturing time
But I find something about Karkand recently. Players have been very familiar with the map, they can play it with 1 of their eyes closed. SO much so that one slight mistakes or overlook will result in death.Comment

Re: Strike at Karkand for Special Forces
Problem is, some of the vanilla BF2 buildings have 'open' windows. If you grapple into one of those windows, you drop inside the building model and then you're essentially invincible, being able to shoot out of the building while nobody can shoot back at you.
That's why most of the MEC BF2 maps weren't ported over by EA.Comment
