nOOb server

Is there a decent nOOb server out there? I am not looking for someplace to pad my stats, it is just that I cannot learn anything when I have Lt. Cols. killing me every four seconds. All I know is that I cannot run fast enought when I re-spawn. Any thoughts?

practice in singleplayer the bots are retarded, but hey it's a great starting grounds.

But, if you want to play online, then it's going to be hard to find a noob-only server

I figured that was the case. I was just wondering if there was some sort of training grounds - maybe one where I have a chance at more than 4 kills and 14 deaths per round. Thanks for the input.

Avoid 64 player maps.

Play small clan servers or ea servers.

I found that larger servers were easier to deal with when I was first learning. With more players around, your own short-comings are made up for by those of skilled teammates and less than brilliant enemies. You've also got a higher chance to be sneaky since things tend to be a lot more chaotic.

Some general tips:
Join a squad. Stick to the SL like glue. Try your best to support his actions and see what it is that he's doing. You can learn a lot that way.

Don't panic about getting owned. Just keep pluggin away... you'll learn.

Practicing against noobs doesn't help. If fact, it's likely to teach you bad habbits. By going up against people with more skill and experience, you're much more likely to improve... 'cause you gotta.

If there really was a n00b server, greedy people would be all up in there destroying the n00bs. theres really no way to seperate the ranks unless the admin kicks anyone of higher rank than whatever they desire - which i think is illegal, correct me if im wrong though

Unless he goes to an unranked server. That's the only way a noob server can exist. That's were I first started.

After getting TK'd (Team Killed) like 20 times, I then switched to a EA server (32 player) and played there.

I joined a squad and tagged along. After a while I learn to take charge and now I pretty good on the field.

I had a similar thought. Given what I have read about stat padding, and the nature of people in general, I would figure that some people would love to be foxes in the hen house, so to speak (veterans in the nOOB sever). I do appreciate the advice anyway. Thank you folks.

I did suggest at one point that maybe if someone wants to run a training ground server that they could use scripts to auto-kick anyone with a pre-determined high score. This way, vets could still hang out on the server to help out noobs, but they'd have to restrain themselves from ownage or they'd go bye-bye.

This was a common setup that I was in other games (Tribes 2, for example).

The reaction was "good idea, make sure it's UNranked or it will be closed down via RoE violations.".

True. Larger maps may overwhelm you at first but at least there's action and you'll have more than enough enemies crossing your path. Which will give you better overview and better one on one skill.

Also you have to get to know the maps well and were people like to go. DO NOT DO THAT IN SINGLEPLAYER. Just suck for a while and then slowley but surely get better.

Different players different style. But I would say sticking like glue to your SL will ruin your game. Be SL and get revieved by teammates or join a squad and spawn on your leader but learn for yourself. If you stick with the squad be sure to keep some distance, if you stay on top of your squad leader you'll just get in each others way.

I suggest practice with the vehicles in in single player. You really need to get comfortable in them to move around etc.

I remember when I first started, I played online and for the longest time I was running from one place to another. Also try starting as a medic first. That way you can watch and learn the maps, see where the choke points are etc. At the same time you can revive teammates and heal to still get points. Once you think you've seen enough, start going for combat!

Join EA servers, although they got a lot of smacktards and teamkillers on, they truly have the most senceless n00bs as well. People new to the game tend to just pick an EA server it seems.

Download Australian Battlefield 2 mod if you want to play single player, Bots and damn close to realistic. Try stick to small servers too, not huge raping 64 Karkand, eventually choose a bigger server.
