    Card Suggestions

Hey, I'm looking to invest in a new Video Card. I am willing to spend $100-$150 on my new card and I want to know if Video Cards are easy to install. What is the difference between nVIDIA and ATI?I am looking for a card that can run BF2 on Medium High/High. If anyone can help me out with the new selection it would be greatly appreciated.

Assuming you're from the US and your talking US Dollars. This card is a bit over your budget but will let you play High, given that you have 1.5 - 2gb of RAM.

      EVGA 6800GS (PCI-Express) (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130267)

For AGP, only the 6600GT will stay within your price constraints.

Go with an ATI card because they have monthly updates.

you should get the X1600 pro, its a good price and it performs better than the 6600 GT. the x1600 pro can play medium/high settings.

                      Re: Card Suggestions

I have 1Gb of RAM but the only issue that I've seen with the cards that attracted my interest was the power supply. Some cards take 450w and I don't know if I have the wattage and don't particulary want to fry my computer. (Although that would be cool to watch) Oh well, thanks for the help!

It won't exactly fry your computer, more of a shutdown process that won't allow your computer to run or overheat.

                          Re: Card Suggestions

I'm an nVidia person. Just personal preference I guess. Besides BF2 says nsist on nvidia!

As for the power issue, I'd recommend going with the 6800 series because they draw power from both your board and a molex connection. Where as the PCIX 6600s did not, they only draw power from your motherboard. This can cause issues if your board can't feed it enough power.

Check this one out, 134 USD and should run like a champ with GDDR3.

Side note: how many watts your Power supply doesn't tell you too much. It's also important how many amps it can supply on the 12v lines etc. Should have a sticker with it.

Nvidia cards are easy to install because they all use the same driver.
