Mine field equals ticket bleed for USMC--Spawn at the hotel lay a diaganol line of 5 across the crossroads. This will deny the USMC their armor blitz and the support benefits and allow you armor time to come up and support MEC defense. Do not neglect setting up secondary fields in depth. Both arty and time will reduce your work. (Yep the mines GO AWAY) The downside is that no one wil help you, your score will not be the same (non killng tactical moves are not rewarded) and you team will punish you for running over clearly marked mines. But it will work.
The Suburbs is where the USMC vacation Most players know you can drive a Hummer or MEC truck through the back way and come out on the nearby road. This area needs to be observed and guarded. The hill "behind" this path is good but vunerable to sniper fire. The houses along the path allow for ambushes and the flexibility to redeploy closer to the Hotel or Suburb Flag. USMC often prefers coming throught the house with the pool or up the stairs from the East.
Blowing your own bridge is not always bad There will come a time when you are losing. The USMC is closing in on "the island". Blow the bridge. Funnel their armor through the death trap you have created at the ford.
