    Stats Reset

    mmm. Yesterday I joined a server called 24/7 KARKAND HIGHPOINT or something like that. And I get in and I'm trying to get my Vet Pistol badge and I see a huge group of people knife fighting. I'm like omg one of these noob servers. So I ask for admin nicely and the admin is like "yes"? I'm like, "You do know these kind of servers are illegal according to EA and your stats should be reset and server shutdown?" (This was a rated server.) And someone was like, "This is just a men's deal nothing illegal.", Then the admin is like, "ok have fun reporting, bye." And he banned me! Okay, so today I sign in and join a server. I go to get my L6-sniper rifle and it's not there. None of my weapons are. I pressed tab too look and my rank is private again :-/. I know you get your stats reset if you play on those servers but wtf. Anyone get this too? :cry:

    btw I guess "High point" is some kind of noob term for knives only.

      Are you sure it's not just that one server? Try another server or restart BF2. There's a bug going around, or was going around, that made people Privates in an error loading the game.

          Hmm, really? That might be it but. This just happened to happen the day after the illegal sever incident. :-/. I also saw other players getting kills with weapon unlcocks. So does it happen to everyone on the server? Or just every couple of people? (Btw I was the only private too :cry: .)

          lol what was funny is I lead the server in points. The next person under me was down 13. They must have been like wtf?

              I agree, I often get no unlocks, and my ranking looks private.

              I just use the weapons that i haven't unlocked, G3, sniper, so I'm not missing out on anything.

              I've been to that server, and it's basically non-formal stat padding.

              I've tried stat padding before, but you have to sit there for hours and its no fun.

              The guys I was doing that with got their stats reset, so I stopped.

              I thank EA for not reseting my account, and I never take that for granted.

              How many points did you get?

              If you're telling the truth, then you need to contact EA, but if you knew you werent supposed to be on that server in the first place, why did you go into it?

              Rank has nothing to do with skill/specs. And yes, system specs contrubute to your skill.

              I played the demo for 50+ hours, according to xfire, so ranks mean nothing to me, besides the ammount of time one has played, definetaly not their skill.

              Try playing with a PCI video card, and tell me you're system specs don't affect you're skill/gameplay.

                  umm some of the stuff you said had absolutely nothing to do with my thread.

                  1. I am telling the truth.
                  2. If my stats were reset I'm positive EA already shut the server down.
                  3. I didn't know High point meant knife only.
                  4. I woulden't have joined if I did.
                  5. You have to unlock the G3.
                  6. I guess your talking about the sniper kit?
                  7. I only got one point from the server it was on some dude who ran up on me with a knife (before I knew about the server.) and I blasted him with my P90.
                  8. When I was talking about leading the server I was talking about when my stats were reset and I was on a legit server.
                  9. The rest of what you said is irrelevant.

                          Who knows...
                          I have been on the KNIFE AND PISTOL only servers before.. my stats are ok...
                          I do not know how EA monitor the servers....I mean they can't even fix little bugs let alone monitor 5000 servers...

                          I would say it is STAT exploiting at its finest... outrages score totals in the 200-300 range for top players..

                          Search the servers for "knife" and you still get 4 or 5 of the servers... so EA doesn't try very hard to find them and shut them down...


                          Sucks if you got your stats reset because some Admin on a knife whore server reported you to EA for Stat padding.... that would suck...but really possible...


                          Whats BS is the DS server.. where it is a clan based server... 5+ DS members whoring it up... kill revive action...



                          PC SETUP can most definitely affect your quality / skill of play...
                          Frame rate can and will affect your play..

                          someone with all settings on low, no AA, and view at 80% will GET OWN'd by
                          someone with all settings to HIGH, 4x AA, and 100% veiw.....ALL DAY LONG..

                              "High Point" doesnt mean knives only. There are a few of these high point servers out there, and its really not a new issue. What the servers do is simply increase tickets, ive seen them up to 400 i believe. So in short it just makes for a long drawn out game. Seems to me if you have a bunch of shorter good scoring rounds, you would basically equal the same in a drawn out map. If you have like 4, 15 minute rounds at a score of 50, then played Karkand for an hour you would end up with around 200 points.....:laugh:

                              If you happened upon a bunch of guys having a knife fight on a ranked server, its obvious what they were up to.

                                      Please explain how low settings will not give you a better frame rate. And what does AA have to do with it? If anything AA will slow your frame rate down lower. Yes latency and frame rate will impact your game, but if your rig can play the game well at low settings, and you have good latency you should be able to own as much as the guy that is playing at higher settings with hardware that is able.

                                          They will give you a better framerate but low geometry and shorter view distance mean you can't see as far.

                                                  Yep, geometry and view distance are the settings that affect how far you can see and how close objects appear. I try to make it so that I can always max these out, even sacrificing some other settings for it.

                                                      Its a glitch that has been around since the beginning. Next time check your ****ing BFHQ!
                                                      If it says 0 there, then you got reset.

                                                          This was a bug. Sometimes you will login and you will be a Private with no unlocks. Your stats were not wiped. By the way, it isn't wise to tell an admin that his server could be shutdown. Best bet is to take screenshots and post on appropriate website.
