Re: Stats padders why does it matter?

the only reason i use ranked servers is because every shot kind of counts.

also the unlocks and badges are neat too.

however, when mods come out ill be the first to ditch it and go to ABR.

thing is though, if im in some little internet cult server and the admin wants infantry only, too damn bad for him.ill play in a tank because nobody else is using it, and if i get banned..... his little clan is in some big trouble.

and ive never seen a stat padding knife/ pistol server. how do you know they are there, if it doesnt say in the name? do you accidentally get into them, then how would padders always find them?

hehe, nice one sniper soul, you moron. even most snipers possess the overall cognitive sense of a rabbit, and see that ranked means NOTHING if you can make your own rules.

i might play for 10 minutes to get a score of 50 in a normal server, when some knife stat padding loser has 500 in the same time. what the hell is the point of ranking it if the points are meaningless?

sorry about the bold, but most sniper type idiots have illustrated that they very rarely read entire posts, especially those that use common sense. thus bolding is the only way to attract their eyes.

Truthfully, who ever goes and looks at other players stats and takes note of them? Stats are mean to be used to see how your doing and how you compare to others. Thats it. This isn't an RPG, it might have some RPG elements to it, but the stats aren't anything to get frustrated over.

Actually, that's the only way I got my Basic Pistol this afternoon. I find it too hard in a reg server. But then again, I've only been playing a week and 1 day, lol. It sucks when they use armor and arty and anything other than pistols and knives

I was on one server where they encouraged base raping. "It's war. Don't complain"

If you don't like the way the game rules are set, don't play. But I guess that's too obvious a solution(not directed toward anyone)

Sorry yo, I've given up trying to open peoples minds to new things on the intraweb, it's a waste of effort for the most part, perhaps eventually you will progress with your understanding of the game and see how working a vehicle does not mean your commandering will surely suffer as a result, but prolly not, so ::hugs & kisses & such::

If anything stats padding is a good thing, It keeps people that would normally be hacking and destroying the game busy! If you read the Myg0t forums for BF2 people are more interested in stats padding then hacking as in comparision to the CSS forums where everyone wants hacks (Lame).

As for stats padding to get unlocks to get all you need 50,000 which is alot but to get all but 2 its only 20,000 which isn't that hard to get if you play regularly.
Some people feel inadequate or something. So when some tard shoots up the ranks and has lots of expert badges and medals it gets to them. They should be ranting about real cheaters. You get some people who are on a mission to catch every stat padder that exists no matter how minor theyre antics are. I really dont get those types..... :p

Try again, child. An argument actually consists of more than just saying "you're wrong." It includes evidence to back up your claims.

It also implies the minimum sentience to realize that the vast majority of your paragraph (above) is completely irrelevant. I took no position on the issue, hence your attempt to claim expertise and understanding of this game, merely by taking a particular position (which, by the way, is a really bad tactic) has no bearing whatsoever. See how arguments actually work, now?

              Try again.

Re: Stats padders why does it matter?

I'd like to see just a reworking of how EA stats are formulated, or in the least a rework on how points are given.
Most pilots when they post, claim they love to fly. The points are just a bonus. However I believe the reality is they simply enjoy the points a tad bit more. Same with armor. I mean really, are there any hardcore armor guys that would use a tank, if it meant extemely low points? Ok, sure there probaly are a few. And thats cool. They should be the ones using them then. Too many times i see pilots and armor folks, using the vehicles to gain points, rather then to push the map into victory for their team. EX: Tank Elite Extrodinaire Guy is hanging out by the Hotel on Karkland in the tunnel area to kill guys spawning. I commanded actually for this example. Meanwhile an enemy tank was wrecking hovac on a flag, and it was fairly obvious this tank was gonna get the flag. And if that flag fell, chances are the enemy would get a very big foothold and possibly win the game. So i ordered that tanker to get to that flag. No such luck. I mean why drive to a flag, and get maybe 1 kill, and a recap of the flag? That would only net him 3-4 points. Versus spamming a spawn, and collecting upwards of 40-60 points in one spammage.
Same with alot of pilots. I've seen them completely ignore that one tank attempting a takeover of the MAIN base. Only to go and spam a flag, that showed many enemies to kill. The problem is, we lost the main, and we had tanks heading to take that flag he was spamming anyways. So....what gives?
Now that I just made a super long winded post, i'd like to see something like......
more points for a flag turn/keep and capture. I mean, the games focal point is flag control. Why shouldnt that net the most points? If you gaurd a flag, and kept it from falling say....... 8 times in one round, you might have say... 28 points at the end of the round. However the ding dong spaming in a tank/apc/plane, didnt do much to sway the win/loss, and gets 140 points. It doesnt make sense. The poor bastard that gaurds the flag, appears on stat paper, that he sucks, when in fact, this person or squad was the star of the show.
If folks are hardcore pilots and armor freeks, then they will continue to use these things, if point totals got lowered for using them. Simply cuz they love using them.
I mean in all reality, i suck in a tank. But the rare times i use one......for a round.... 80 points is so easy to get, its unreal. Without really any effort as well.
Not only that, why should someone who is surrounded by armor..that can take upwards of 4 at shots, be more rewarded then the poor bastard carrying a shot gun?
                Oh well.

Always nice to have people attacking my intellegence who don't know me. You seem to care so much about people stats padding and getting a score of 500 in one round (Which I've never seen done in any server) but why does it matter? Because he has a different symbol beside his name that shows he has got more points? Pistol and Knife servers do have it in there name most will say Pistol and Knife only and no one in the server really knows each other there all pubbers. If the admin wants infantry only and most the people in the server disagree go a head and use a tank but if your going into a infantry only server or most of the server would like to do infantry only why are you going out of the way to make the game less fun for them? Thing is stats are stats and they don't mean anything other then for trying to get commander. This isn't an RPG where every kill you make makes your character stronger.

O and {Sn][per} is a clan, the same clan that is letting the TBF2 clan use a ranked server from our box.

Seriously though, the pistols are waaay too easy to kill with. Especially if you use the American sniper-rifle-like Beretta 92F. The supressed 92FS isn't as easy to aim, but the 92F is Fantastic.

Seriously you can shoot it like 300m and there is no bullet drop, you can rapid fire as there is minimal recoil.... It's fantastic.

You don't need a K&P only server to score high with the pistol.

Cheap pistol tactic? Snipe them with a rifle and then fire a follow up pistol shot. Generally you kill them quicker than waiting for the rifle to reload.

While I do have more pistol deaths than I do kills, The pistol is a very useful long ranged weapon if you are an AT with the DAO-12 or an Engineer with the pumps.

Socom II for the PS2 had it best, the only points awarded were for kills. The rest were stats like rescuing people and whatnot, but do points really drive you to continue playing? If so then sommits wrong with you.
