No bug, that's your videocard messing up. It's either getting to hot or you got a driver issue.

Make sure to remove your cache (My Documents/Battlefield 2/mods/bf2/cache) and make it refresh the shaders.

Also a proper cleaning and reinstall of your drivers might help.

Do what the above poster said...Not that hard.

Your video card might also not be powerful enough for BF2...

My video card is powerful enough!!!!!! I have a Radeion X850XT Platnium!!!!!!!
I updated my drivers a month ago, and did everything right according to the guy who updates tweakguides.com, and everything was working outstanding, until i updated BF2 with the new patch 1.22!!!!!!! Ever since i have had that patch, stuff like that pops up all the time!!!!!!!!!

Re: What is up with this bug????

i noticed artifacts like that right before my last video card died

you havent over clocked it have you?
try resetting it to its default clock speeds
if you havent, and over heating anyways try this:
start up the game, open your case, and touch your heat sink, if its too hot to touch then its definitely over heating
you need to check your heat sink and make sure its clear of accumulated dust
if you feel tech worthy enough, remove your heat sink, clean it and the gpu off, and re-apply thermal paste

if its still over heating, i recomend you get a new case, preferably one that accomodates 120mm fans
also you can install ati tray tools, and under clock it some to reduce the heat output http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=733

You should use driver cleaner pro. Make sure you have the latest catalyst downloaded and ready to be installed. After cleaning the drivers restart the PC, and install the catalyst driver. Make sure you watch those temps as said before!

every damn radeon card i ever owned was a major POS! ATI BLOWS!
Spend the money and get a good gforce. 6600gt or better. I NEVER have problems with mine.
                  NEVER!
