CTD's are heat related for me

just wanted to post this info as it may help some others. like many, i've suffered from random CTD's. the way it usually happened is that the game would freeze with the sound skipping. i've read everything i could about this issue and think i've found the solution to MY problem. it's heat. not sure if it's the cpu or vid card, but if my room gets warm, that's when the problems begin. but if i keep the room nice and frosty, no problems. of course, i won't be able to afford to keep the a/c on 73 F all the time, so i'm looking into ways to keep my box cool. any suggestions for a fella on a tight budget?

    my rig: barton 2500 (oc'ed @ 2.2 Ghz), asus nfs7v2, 1 gig pc3200, 60 gig hd @7200 rpm, 6800 gt, audigy value 2, 400w ps

Aftermarket coolers on your CPU and video card should solve some cooling problems. Also, make sure your case has appropriate airflow. Cold air stays low and warm air rises, so it's good to put an intake down below and exhaust at the top.
