You realize that this is either an error in coding or an error in intent by EA.

The Stabilizer fins on any rocket will set it straight seconds after firing. They should NOT continue moving in the direction you were going after you fire them.

Hate to say it but DC had it right with the Hellfires.
When you fired them they flew to where your crosshare was when you fired it. Not to some degree in the direction you are moving.
It's quite stupid and unrealistic.

I've been complaining about this since I first flew a chopper in BF2.

They do the same in BF2 unless I have missed something. The problem was that there was no knows 100% foolproof aiming reticle to aim the missiles by. Now with the picture above, you have one.

I could expand that picture to show how to aim while moving sideways, if anyone is interested. Although its simple really.

Yes you have missed something
When you are moving forward or strafing you have to lead your target in order for it to hit because the rockets still move in the direction you were traveling. (Even if target is stationary.)

I've gotten used to it and although it's somewhat annoying it does take some skill to master. It's possible they didn't want a Point and Shoot Helo.

Hmm, I have to disagree, I havent noticed that the missiles didnt move straight. However, this argument can be set straight with a video capture. Anyone up for the job?

The solution is very simple but can be time-consuming depending on your learning curve: create a single-player game on Dragon Valley and approach the vehicles from different angles and begin your shots at different times. Eventually, you will understand the pattern and timing...

Failing that, join a server and watch the good pilots in first-person. (press the X in the top-right corner and cycle through the players until you get the chopper)
