    International Strike?

Right.. I'm not going to go on an EA/DICE slagging sesion. I want to get "the feel of the people".

I have been roaming the interenet since 1.2 trying to fix my own BF2 problems. But what you see if you yourself have looked around the support sections of various forums is taht there are hundreds and thousands of people having real problems.

It would appear that many of these issues are ignored by EA-DICE, and so we all go on a shouting match "EA SUX DICE CAN SUCK MY PLUMBS" etc etc...

well that get's no one anywhere.

I want to here your oppinoins.. on an internationaly organized "strike". Not a huge permanent strike.. Just a six hour slot or something simular.

Now I know you guys who are not having problems are probably going crossed eyed with laughter.. but with patch 1.3 looming YOU COULD BE NEXT...

Do you think an international guns down strike would get the attention of EA "hey look in fools.. were not happy get a grip". A statement not made by one man but made by the whole gameing community.

Some will say that this is impossible to implement. It is only impossible if you switch bf2 on during the assumed time.. If enough forums and people spread the word it could happen.

Mass player statements have worked in the past. Look at WoW this community have made MANY statements on mass including whole online rallies and even the storming of teh auction room by thousands of naked dwarfs. You think im kidding eh.. well no and these statments have had effects and cause change.

    Your thoughts please.

Whether this would work is subject to debate. We supported CCA for CoD2, which involved passwording the servers and changing the server name to a support message. The general gripe there was the lack of PB support.

It appears you're talking about personal bugs in the game, whereas I have none, and most people I play with have none. Is it EA/Dice fault that throught the PC world that are a vast array of configurations and or skills levels, which inherently affect the PC's their software has to run on? I think not.

Furthermore, your poll is emotive in itself, people have the right to disagree with you, without being branded a particular type of person.

Bugs yes. bugs that are repeated through many many users. For example the 1.2 stuttering fps problem which hundreds are suffering from. I'm not looking for EA to fix peoples individual problems, but when so many are suffering and being ignored for the same problems..

Ah yes i understand that I was wrong here and I can't edit my phrasing on the polls. Everyone does have the right to there own oppinion. But I feel it will be the people who are having no problems that will click the "no" box. Just remeber I like amny hadd no probs before 1.2 so why after 1.3 could it not be your turn along with large amount of others suffering a brand new and unexplainable fault rendering the game unplayable, and then to be ignored by the makers? Would you wait until you have a problem to say that there are problems?

            Re: International Strike?

BF2 is a game. It also happens to be a fantastically complicated piece of software that runs on fantastically complicated computers sitting on an equally fantastically complicated Internet. EA/Dice are businesses trying to make money, yes, a dirty word - profit. If I do not like a published or a develper team, I, uh, do not buy their games.

For the record I never had any problems with game or it's patches. All sort of folks can have all sorts of issues. Most issues are self manufactured and center on emotional claims such as "In real life, things work this way..." or "this kit/gun is unbalanced". Folks with hardware issues in many cases need to read the minimum suggested configuration to get the *minimum* functionality of the game. Exceed those specs and duh, your game play will be better.

If you have an issue with a publisher or a game, don't buy it. That is the most powerful statement that can be made. Programmers tend to stop programming when there is no profit to be made. On-line efforts can only make an impact - however small - if monthly subscriptions are used and you have the stones to stop playing and paying - for MORE than a month.

Strike? thats a bit over the top, It's only a game and mine works fine.

If you don't like it, move on to another game.

I really doubt EA/Dice would give a crap.

Did this idea work for COD2? I remember reading about a strike and laughing, Punkbuster wasnt added to the game and cheaters were running rampant or something. I dont know how that turned out.

Muddyfunster you dont need to get everyone to strike, you only need to get the server admins to strike.

                    Re: International Strike?

I'm not 'dissing' your idea Muddy, it's just that the lack of PB in CoD2 affects everyone (well apart from the cheaters!), whereas this affects a small minority.

I would have thought your best course of action would be to get everyone to contact EA/Dice support and log tickets with them. If a problem has a significant number of reports, then I would have thought that it would then flag itself as something that needs solving.

i really dont think ea/dice would care if we all went on strike for 6 hours.. after all we have already paid for the game so what are they going to lose?

An online petition for a free map or two would be ok, I'm not disattisfied with Dice or EA really. Think the game's great had a few issues like most but nothin worth worryin about. Free stuff is always welcome and would show a lot of goodwill to all the people that have supported the format and forked out.

                          Re: International Strike?

Online protests/strikes only work with subscription based games, eg WoW, because a developer's line of revenue is threatened.

In the case of BF2, there is no such concern for EA, because it only requires a one off payment for each part of the game, and EA already has your money. So what would a strike do?

We're lucky to get what patches we do get for free - we're lucky to get any at all, EA/Dice don't have to support the game beyond the point of sale.

Reminds me of the whiney little CCA kids at IWNation.com who organized a 24-hour strike (which actually only closed about 500 of the ****tiest, always-empty servers) because Infinity Ward hasn't released a patch for Call of Duty 2 yet.

                            Grow up.

Yeah, they already have your money...now a better form of protest would be to discourage the future purchase of BF2 and its boosterpacks/X-packs.

But if you read the E.U.L.A and the T.O.S..you know the things that you ignore when installing...yeah those.

You would come to the real conclusion that EA/DICE don't even have to allow you to play online if they don't want to..(yes even if you bought the game). Theyt are not obligated to do anything, patches..etc....like it was said before lets be glad we get the support that we get.

So really "strikes" really don't do anything.
