BF2142 vs Crysis, or BF2 engine vs CryEngine 2

Graphically CryEngine 2 is at least one generation ahead, since both DICE and Crytek are part of EA now, they should really share the engine development.

It will be so thrilled to play BF2142 on CryEngine2.

Hmm CryEngine2 is being developed with ATI and EA in bed with Nvidia so it will never happen

it doesn't work like this, EA is the producer, DICE is the developer , DICE is actualy still a seperate company or seen as a seperate company.

And actualy I even don't want to see things happen like this, the way it is now is the best thing for good concurency between the diffirent game studio's, this way we get more diffirent games each with there own gameplay and graphics .

Otherwise we get situation like DOOM III en QUAke IV, they both look exactly the same and gameplay is actualy also the same, due to use of the same engine and the quake team had less time so they used a lot of the renders from DOOM III

Not too sure if it was engine that caused the games so similar, but really if you remember the days of RTS, so many different engines, yet the games still feel like each other. On the contrary, Unreal/Unreal2 engine was licenced to different games, and they are fine.

you do know that if they used DirectX 10, we'd all have to upgrade to Windows Vista and buy brand spanking new video cards that have the chipsets for DX10 for $500?
