EA loves to create a game and then when it is a hit, create an expansion pack to draw off the the success like the Sims and now the Sims2. I've played the Sims in the past, but there was not patches that I recall for the game or expanisions.
Special Forces has alot of new content in it with new armies and cool stuff which is what an expanision pack should provide. But three new maps a new army with their weapons, then there is AF comming out sometime soon......Why couldn't they just made an expansion out of all the new content? A booster pack takes less time to create and test and EA can quickly rush it out to the public to cash in on the games success.
I am thinking about purchasing SF, enough I still like the BF2 maps, but the Euro Forces seems like a waste of time exploring three new maps and firing some new weapons, and since my jet skills are terrible, I will not be hopping in one of those.
The booster just seem like a boost to EA's already expanding wallet that supplies little to the gamer. Sure $10 in US in not much at all, but that is the point. A low price place a high demand on the product, but for content, I would pay more, and plus it is cheaper for EA to marktet it as a download only game.
Here is the price that EA has manage to put on their content.
$10(US) 3 maps, 1 new army, 1 helo, 2 jets--times that by three
$30(US) 9 new maps, 3 new armies, 3 helos, 6 jets.(6 jets is alittle much)
And this is with no new devices that was in the SF expanison pack like zipline, grappng hook, flash bang gernade, night vision googles and new vehicles.
Plus it is online only, which as posted before is non-refundable and cost EA less to package the material.
Now you tell me, if EA is not trying to booster their revenues for their shareholder(which is what the Board of Directors does is find ways to create wealth for shareholders).
Plus the 4,5,6 patches, I'm not sure now, plus more to come, which means you are paying for an incomplete product, but for the sake of money, EA releases their unfinished product and says a patch is on it's way.....then DON'T release it, if it is not finished. I am sure bugs were found in their testing, they are idots, if they want us to believe they did not find the same ones this community found in just hours of playing.
For this reason, I am not purchasing any boosters unless their is some new and more content they what EA is trying to pass on to me.
Thanks for all for reading and putting up with this post. I've said my peace.
