^^^ Agree. Generally those AV's and firewall you pay for are bloated (in terms of resource hoggage) and most commonly targeted/attacked. Use a well known free alternative, they work just as well. Zone alarm and AVG are great. Even Windows Firewall is better than nothing.

Oh yeah, and Norton fricken sucks!
I use avast and have done for over 3 years, never had an issue and I swear by the product.

Well in this case, free is just as good or better. That goes for software firewalls and for antivirus applications. There's no reason in spending money for something that you could get for free.

Here's what i did to fix my NAV prob while playing BF2. Open NAV up and click options, then go under Interent Worm Protection and Click on Program Control. If Xfire isn't in there, add it. If it already is, select it and click on remove and then add it again. This should work. Be sure to go to the root folder.

Norton uses to much resorses, run zone alarm free firewall if you dont want to pay, and AVG free antivirus works well. or better still use a router w/ builtin NAV.

Uh, yeah. That's like saying Spybot S & D is a trojan because there are lots of trojans with spybot in their name.

                            Re: Norton's Antivirus

Good, I had Norton and all I had was a sluggish program that ate up huge ammouns of memory and ran its tentacles of lag all through my system.
I now use VET andtivirus, my motherboard has built in firewall which works well.

ya, i hate that too, when i load the server list that stupid pop up comes up no matter how many times you hit permit.

just ignore it and go back into game and let it sit on ur desktop, thats what i do.
