ah stuttering at start of map!

when i say stuttering, i do NOT mean lag.

i know perfectly well what lag is, what i am referring to is basically everything freezes for a split second every second.

this happens at the start of an online match, which it randomly started doing back in patch 1.12, having never done it before.

it stutters for anywhere from a few seconds to a minute. this is extremely annoying, worse than a bit of start match lag, so i was wondering what i could do to fix it.

i tried reinstalling but that did not seem to change anything, also it runs at 50-70 FPS so comp is not a problem.

could graphics card drivers be it? im using a 82. something modified driver. should i revert to 78.01 normal, the one i had most luck with?

i think its because the game is still loading sounds/textures into memory.....it used to be alot worse when i only had 1Gb of memory....now with 2GB its a very short stutter when i first load the game up.

I get this as well! After about 20 or so seconds into a match it starts doing a freezing thing every second. Usually lasts about 15 - 20 seconds. Friggin annoying.

Here are your options
1- Get 2 Gigs of memory.
2- Lower the Texture settings to medium or low.

Yes this usually happens to people who run textures on high and have 1GB of RAM or less.

I have 2 gigs and have my settings on medium and I lag for about 2 seconds after i spawn.

yeah, but the problem is i NEVER had it before, not even when running 512 mbs RAM with medium textures!

and my textures are already low, when i set them to medium it stutters more.

frigging annoying, as with 1 gig pc3200 i should easily be able to run medium textures, high everything else.

i would accept that it was computer except that it just started randomly halfway through the 1.12 patch.

it had never ever stuttered or lagged before on the start of a game, even when i had 512 mb!
