The general consensus is that the extra damage from the SCAR-L isn't enough to justify its poorer accuracy compared to the G36C.

Not only poor accuracy of the SCAR-L- it seems to have a slower rate of fire.

Too bad I didn't know any of this about the SCAR-L, I was even excited to unlock it, only to find out how much it sucked. Such a waste... :'( when I could have used it for a Jackhammer or the M95 or the G3

I've stuck to the G36C since, and never had I been happier out-sniping snipers with it.

          G3 babe.
          Ya know you want it.
With the PKM tweaked down a bit, it's the single most brutal slug chucker you can haul around.

Hm... well- come to think of it- since I get 2 unlocks per promotion- I usually only unlock BOTH tiers of the 1 kit when I get a promotion (and that's only 2000 points away for me)- the kits remaining for me to unlock are the engineer, sniper and assault kits. The assault is looking ever more appealing... Wargimp, what's your take on the F2000? give me the spics n specs (please :) ).

                F2000 specs: http://wiki.bf2s.com/weapons/unlocks/f2000

Personal take on it: Before the uber nerfage of the GL it was a damned fine weapon. Turned me into a noobtoober for awhile. :p These days it's best advantage is that it's the only way to get flashbangs. Need a knife badge? Flashbangs help alot. Stabbin blind people is more fun than stampin on kittens.

Overall, tho, I'd have to say it's actually become rather sub-par. The AK does everything the F2000 does and the m16 is more accurate. The F2000's sights are kinda coolish at first, but they block too much of your vision to be "good". It's really best for shot-from-the-hip encounters after you've flashed someone and can't close range to get your pigsticker into him.

Honestly, I'd say go for the G3 and the PKM or DAO-12 if you don't have those already.

Hm, thanks... yeah, I have the PKM and the DAO-12 already (and the MG36 and the P90) - I suppose I'll get the G3 and the Jackhammer instead... but then again... the flashbangs come with the F2000 right? or is it when I unlock anything from Assault I'll get flashbangs?
Thing I don't like about the F2000 is that it looks really unwieldy, and yeah- the crosshair thing is actually off-putting to me - haven't unlocked it yet, but I've picked it up off a dead guy before and used it... not very stable, right?

And yeah, I need a knife badge- it's the thing other than the 2000 points needed for me to be gunnery sargeant.

                    use that which is better

i use the scar, some folks like the g36

it's the difference between coke and pepsi. They're way different, but yet they both do the job when your thirsty.

i like pepsi, and the scar.

Oh... comparing the SCAR to the G26C is more like comparing a milkshake to a glass of vodka.
They're both very different - though dealing similar damage- I can't get used to using the SCAR because the brighter bit of the red-dot doesn't seem to be the actual center of the sight, and its fire-rate is slower, and seems to lack accuracy, yet has higher recoil.
Thus I very much still prefer the G36C (since I can out-snipe snipers with it), but I'm moving away from being Spec-ops and hopefully diversifying into a new kit that I'd like - thing is, I still want to blow sh1t up... AT's just a waste of time now, and engineers... well, their weapons aren't really up to scratch, also- I don't plan on unlocking snipers, until I get my very last set of unlocks.

Re: G36c or SCAR-L and why.

                        Hey six.

I would recomend the F2000 over the Jackhammer. I'm a shotty fan, but I almost never use my Jackhammer. The default shotguns are solid when you use 'em right and when I want some more range, I go with the MP7.

Basicly, the Jackhammer is a weak DAO-12. You can cap off rounds faster with the DAO's than you can with the Jack if you've got a fast finger. The Jack's shot is weaker too. It has fewer pellets and each one does the same as the DAO.

Hope that gives you an idea of what it's like. Some people still dig it. I don't really.

Unlocking and using the F2000 is the only way to get flashbangs. Banging someone does make it perty easy to stick your knife into him... but only if you do it right. Very cool to flash 3 guys at a time, then just walk in and gut 'em. Just watch out for panic fire.

I've personally found the rifle to be quite stable in shot from the hip situations. It makes a good close quarters weapon since you don't really need to go to iron sights. It does good damage, the spray isn't ungodly, good clip size, and it's fully auto. Iron sights do kinda suck... but, meh. That's not really this weapon's role.

                        Again, hope this helps.

Ah, has helped indeed- I really don't want to do another "Get all excited about unlocking a gun that I will despise later on" - i.e the SCAR.

Well... in that case, I'll stick to unlocking both tiers of assault when I become Gunnery Sargeant. And I AM aiming to get me knife badge... I really don't get why they make it only 5 pistol kills for pistol badge, but 7 knife kills for knife badge... when it's clearly harder and rarer to find an occaision to kill someone with a knife... oh wells.

I oughta play Assault more anyway- I'm more of a run-n-gun kinda guy.

As with why people prefer the jackhammer - it's a chunky gun, and looks more like some kind of pneumatic drill. I do have to say, I'd feel pretty crazy too if I had a jackhammer in me hands.

Thanks for the tips by the way... the only use of the flashbang I ever seen was for whoring aircraft (banging just as people approach aircraft).

The L96A1 is the baddest sniper rifle ever. Let the bodies hit the floor.

Hehe, I rarely see people using BFs in their absolute best capacity.

                              Blindin low flying choppers.

Sharqi is great for it. When you so that raptor comin your way, lob a banger as high as you can and into it's general path. You don't get kills for it, but it's hilarious to see a chopper whobbling, vearing off, then smashing into a building after you blinded the pilot.

I've been able to bring a couple bird down that way.

BTW, I found it harder to get my pistol badge than my knife badge. When you start pistoling someone, they have a nasty habbit of turning around and blowing you away. With a knife... by the time they know I'm there, they're already dead.
