I try to join server and it says my CD-key is not valid, and this happens all every server. i tried reinstalling it but the **** still happens!! WTF!!

I was reading your thread and it sounded EXACTLY like cartman from Southpark in my head.
As to your problem, try a clean re-install of BF2.

What most likely happened is someone decided to go to a store and open up a BF2 box, then copied down the CD key. Now all you have to do is return it to the store and tell them it wouldn't install because it said the CD key was invalid. Then you get to pick up a different copy and make sure you grab one from the back of all the other boxes.

This happened to me when i first bought half-life 2. It really really really really ****ed me off too.

let me say in clear details what happened...i bought this game the second day it came out and played for a LONG time uptill two weeks before. so basically i played this game from june - march 1st or something. i stopped playing because my internet is too **** up to play, so i hang back and did other things. now i start this game, logged in, and tried to join a server and this message came up saying my CD-Key is fuked. so i reinstalled and still didnt work

Contact EA support. They will help you, provided you still have the case and manual I believe.

I have done that twice. I tried to play road to rome for the first time and got cdkey in use.

So i emailed ea and was given a brand new key IN MY EMAIL ffs. Not that i am complaining but geez could have done it more securely!

And special forces and got 'this has already been registered' when i tried to register my copy with EA. I was like wtf?

So i brought it back to the store and got myself a SHRINK WRAPPED copy! Hey presto! No problems! Now i have 2 working keys for road to rome - one only works when who ever has my original key isnt playing it, and a second key for special forces of which i have no idea if it works as i havent tried it.

Sounds like somebody with a key-generator generated your cd-key and tried it. either that or you put your copy on a friends comp or brothers comp etc and used your cd-key again. this makes your cd-key invalid

Sounds to me like some one has got a ****** and it has reproduced your cd KEY and since you have not played for along time it has aloud the other person priority on the cd key


I had a similaer problem with fifa 2006 but i emailed EA support and they sent me a new cd key 7 days later,so you could try that

did it happen after you installed a patch??
If so launch the patch installer and click next untilthe last step before the actual installation begins. Do NOT close the installer!
Then go to C:/Documents and Settings/<Your Windows profile>/temp/<{Lots of numbers and capital letters}>
you have several of those folders in temp, have a look in each of them until you find an app called bf2keycheck.exe or so.
Run it and it should work. Unless your key really was stolen

I had this happen and I fixed it, Goto I:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\Support and then the code.exe, enter your key there, if it doesn't work which it probably won't, then try the method mentioned here -> http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45788

All should be good now. A reinstall would fix if all else fails. I remember I was just playing and got this, something had gone messy in the bf2 directory without me doing something somehow.

They will ask for some numbers off your disc and provide a new CD key and BAN your current one.
