    Video Card Help! (please help)

Hey I got an alienware with a GeForce Nvidia 6600 256mb.
What do you recoomend I buy? I need something that isnt that bad... I also just want it enough to do BF2 on high settings and maybe for a few more future games.
    ATI?
    Nvidia?
    PCI?
I have no idea what the diffference is so please suggest and also post where I can find the item!

I'm an ATI fan myself, I just have this SLI setup because my dad got it for me as a Christmas present. I think alot of the guys on here are nVidia fanboys but personally I would go with ATI. PCI-e x16 is the newest slot for video cards but there is really no difference between AGP and PCI, except I think the Radeon 9800 is the highest for AGP. If you have a PCI-E motherboard, you're all set.

Give us a link to your computer you got, but just so you know the 6600 is fine, if you have enough RAM it will do *most* settings on high.

first off,as said, PCI, AGP and PCiexpress are different slot types, not ard makers. PCiexpress is the newest/best/future. but if you have an older motherboard you might have agp.

as for ati or nvidia... I chose Other. heres why, it depends on how much money you have and the games you play.
if you have about 550$, go with an ATi x1900 card, it can render HDR and AA at the same time in one card and performs very very well.
if you dont have that mucn cash, I would go with nvidia. 7800, 7900, 6800gs.

If you don't have much cash? $1000 is much for me :/

I'm considering buying the X1600, but I'm not sure it's worth it, because DX10 is coming soon.

get 7600 GS or X1600 because its cheap and works good for its price

            about DX10 arrival
1.the wait will kill you more than the price, so buy something now
2.there will probably be no good price for DX10 capable cards at its launch
3.(if you can't afford expensive cards) next gen budget cards are so cheap that they won't be able to display DX10 to its full capability... for example my X1600 supports DX9c but it lags like hell when DX9 options are set on high
