    Disc

Well the BF2 disc is f*cked, with 3 cracks on the disc from the middle part into the actuall data of the disc, from putting it back in the game case, and with the game case middle part wearing away the disc.

So I don't want to buy another copy of BF2 right now, can I play it without the disc? a easy method thats safe?

i dont know how, but ever since i downloaded the SF from EA, i have not had to put the cd in since. I have the cd stuck in the BF2 holder/case. I dont have any mounting tools or anything like that running either. Everythign works great with any version expansion pack i want to play on. Wish i knew what happened so i can do that.

The pixelsite he told you about was just his site that had nothing with the topic to do (B******** advertising). Since you own the CD it's legal to download a cd image of BF2. Since you own the CD I hope it's legal for me to tips you about sites like http://www.bittorrent.com and http://thepiratebay.org where you can, using a bittorrent client (download at the first link), download for example copies of BF2.

If I wasn't meant to post this, please mods delete it. I don't want to cause trouble.

Remember, you may only the links I provided FOR LEGAL REASONS PLEASE!!!

Alright thanks, I know about torrents anyway, but I know his link is advertising but I clicked it out of generosity if he was going to give me the cd image.

              Re: Disc

Can you put the CD in and start BF2? Because BF2 only needs the disc for startup, I believe. You can take it out after that. But I might be thinking of Halo.

                Re: Disc

Or, you can borrow a friend's disk, copy an ISO version of it to your hard drive and then mount the iso image as a cdrom drive. I used Game Drive for this, but you can do it manually as well. This is not considered something illegal, unethical, etc. It just frees up your cdrom drive. And, since he has already paid for the game in a legitimate manner, obtaining the data on the disk through another means is allowed, as he does own it.

$13 is waaaaay too much to pay for a broken disk! That's rediculous that the "nominal fee" is almost 1/4 of the original purchase price!! CD's cost what? $1.00 at most to copy and package. Add $3.50 for S/H. What a rip!
