strange....fps check it out

it seems like my fps is higher and more stable when i use 1600x1200 then 1024x768! i tested it a few times...i dont know how that can be possible.

my setup
p4 3.0ghz
ati x800xt 256mb
2gb corsair xms 3200
audigy 2 zs
wd 80gb hd 7200

sometimes my fps dips from 99 to mid 20's like on karkand. is that normal for my setup? i benchmarked my comp compared to others using 3Dmark05 and it was similar.

but anyways the resolution thing is really strage. has anyone noticed that? maybe it has something to do with the refreshrate.

Have you erased your cache files and let the game re-optimize your shaders?

Go to My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache and delete all the folders in there. this will force the game to re optimize the shaders. It might help im not sure.

whats ur average fps on a map like karkand? especially in heavy firefights and with long distances.

My system is almost the same as yours, and I would I agree, but I don't know why I keep playing on 1024 x 768 : /

Ive got a 2Ghz p4, X1600 Pro, 1.25 Gig of ram. I have view distance to 100, everything on med except lighting. 2xAA I get about 50-60 in heaby firefights. All on med except for lighting. So im not pretending to have everything on high and get 60. I just dont want some lunatic to go crazy on my ass and cuss me out for saying i get 60fps on all high. lol

Nothing Special about my setup.
i play at 1280x1024.

For some reason 1600x1200 isn't an in-game option for me...
Is it for you, or are you doing it in an init file?

I run mine at 1600 x 1200 @75hz with aa x4 and everything on high and I'm trying to figure out why my frames are low. My fps averages 60-90, and goes as high as 130-150. But it also dips into the 40's every once in awhile, and it doesn't matter whats happening in game. It was always over 100 before I installed Euroforce. It doesn't matter if I turn off aa, or lower it, or lower my resolution either. I get the same. I wonder if my processor is bottlenecking my cards. I've tried reinstalling graphics drivers and the game and it doesn't matter.

hey i get the same exact thing..no matter whether im 8xaa 1600x1200 or 1024x 2xaa i have the same fps. what is up with that? i just got new ram, now i have 4x512mb corsair xms 3200 and i dont think it helpled me at all!

does anyone have a clue what might be causing this?

anyone else have suggestions on how to improve fps and any guess on why my fps is bad (around 30 on karkand in heavy fights) on a p4 3.0 oc 3.3ghzm 2x512mb corsair xms 3200 RAM, x800xt 256mb, audigy 2 zs
