Recording?

Hi there!

I'd like to make a BF2 movie about myself (yay!!!). And for that I need clips.
I know that demo-recording is only available to the server, and not for the clients. In CS there's a way of recording a "personal" demo which only starres the player, and not everybody else. And in CS you could record this "personal" demo without being the server.
Is there something like that in BF2 too?
Is there any other way of recording (WITHOUT recording directly onto the computer with Fraps = enormous clips and low FPS ingame while recording)?
And BTW, I've allready made a film starring me pwning bots, that was not fun :)...

Somone please? Yes or no? Maybe?

Guide to recording your game footage in single player or your own server.

1. Create the following directories:
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\demos
and \My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Default\demos
2. Start a Single player game or host your own game and press ` (the button under ESC) to bring up the consol then type:
demo.recorddemo myfilename and press enter.
3. It should say "recording demo...", if so, hit ` again to close the consol.
4. To stop recording, type:
demo.stopRecording then press enter
5. Disconnect and Quit game
6. Copy the myfilename.bf2demo file from: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\demos to \My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Default\demos
7. Load the game up and go to "Community" tab where you should see your file listed.

Only a server can set up the demo recording but most servers have a website or something that you can go to and download the demo for personal use.

The only client side way of recording is with a third-party program like Fraps. If you set up Fraps properly it doesn't do that much damage to your gaming pleasure.

Go to a server that has BR set up (Raging Rebels does 209.160.40.25) play a few games then go to community and download the BR's/ Use battlelaucher to record /edit them.

Only other way is to host your own server, but there will be noone in it so more boring than single player
