  • Strange freeze problem

    Hey there guys.

I just put together a new gaming rig I installed and patched bf2 and I tried to run it, however the game freezes every 5-10 seconds or so for a few seconds, has anyone else found this?

if it is any help, the spec is
    Athlon 64 X2 4400+
    580W PSUU
    2Gig RAM (2x1 Gig sticks)
    x1900 XT
    Asus A8R32-MVP Deluxe
    37Gig Raptor 1000rpm sata
    320 Gig sata2
    xp pro

I haven't been able to find anyone with this specific problem. I just wanted to throw it out to you guys see if it rings any bells or if you can assist me in someway cus it is extremely annoying, I can play oblivion on Full details at 6xAA but bf2 is doing this.

if you need any more info please let me know.

(Oh and the freezing even happens in the menu and the intro video, it is wierd to say the least.)

    *bump

        Re: Strange freeze problem

just wanted to say thanks for the help

updating punkbuster didn't help, it can't of been the problem as it was happening during the intro video also, it seems it was a problem with the release version of the Motherboard Bios, found a long thread on overclockers.co.uk with people having the exact same problem, with bf2 and hl2, it is all fixed.

        thanks again.

Just wanted to say thanks for posting this! I was having the exact same problem with my new Asus A8R32-MVP Deluxe & x1900xt.
I almost put my old mobo & x800 back in to play bf2
