Any tips for a new BF2 player?

I had both battlefield 1942 & BF Vietnam on my old pc and loved them dearly and was good at them both

I got BF2 last Thursday and i cannot get to grips with it at all: confused: . The basics i get as the controls are more or less the same as the old battlefield games so that wasnt a problem.

I just cant get to grips with it and i am desperate need of some tips, as i get constantly owned by artillery and UAVs

        Meh LMAO

Everyone gets owned by Arty don't worry

as for UAV just remember that u can also see them from ur own UAV... as long as ur commander isn't a f**kin idiot (which most are)

stay away from large masses of troops, avoid staying in a flag area for too long, stay away from snipers and tanks

Question: If you kill someone with a supply crate does it say "1337commander[Supply Crate]stupidn00bsniper"?

just make sure u keep your eyes open. Dont look straight ahead, always look around yourself. Always keep on the move or else you will be picked off by long range shooters. Keep your eyes on that mini map!!!

My advice would be to join a full squad that is communicating on VOIP and work together. You will quickly learn from other players and have fun in the process.

Also, unlocking the PKM wouldn't hurt

If it weren't for the art, we'd all have brilliant Kill/Death ratios. You should stay away from recently captured flags, large masses of troops and if you hear the art landing around you....run in the opposite direction.

Since your starting out, play on the smaller servers eg 32 players or less. This way you have more chance of surviving for more than 5 mintues. Join a squad and see what they do. Strength in numbers....only do lone rambo style attacks once you become experienced.

Try all the infantry classes and see which one you feel most comfortable with. It's likly you will have preferences for each maps so investigate each one. If you want to gain points fast to get those unlocks medic is an exellent class to go.

With the medic you can revive players and leave health packages for players to use when needed. You gain 1 point for a heal and 2 points for a revive aswell as the usual points for kills/kill assists.

                    goodluck

ok, for arty just wander off on your own and as long as youre not a stupid sniper who remains stationary for 5 minutes youll be fine.

NEVER slow down in a jet aircraft. regard the throttle as an engine on/off switch. lower throttle in flight and you DIE.

oh yeah, if the other guys have PKMs, be anti tank with dao 12 and shoot them with sraw. if the sraw misses, finish with dao.

try not to charge straight at pkm guys from 50 feet away. seems strange, but whenever i have a pkm its exactly what they do....

i strongly suggest vehicle oriented maps until the claymore scourge is wiped from the urban maps. i can guarantee you will be more frustrated with the claymore-whoring than anything else in the game, as i am after many hours of battlefield experience (170 BF2 ranked, many more BF1942 and mod hours)

and for guns, the M16 is generally the best when prone and shooting, along with the G36E. stay out of bunny hopping fights with the M16 however. you may find either support weapons or auto shotguns (my fave by far is dao 12) to be best against bunny hopping snipers and pkm whores, which constitute the majority of urban map players.

                        no it says 1337commander[killed]stupidn00bsniper

like when you set down claymores (this is an example) and you die and switch kits and keep playing but someone gets killed by the claymores...most of the time it will say [killed] and not [claymore]

i was wondering, what do [killed] count under in stats?

say i bomb 2 guys with a mig, and it says [killed]. is there a generic kill total maybe?

Just play the game and have fun. Soon you will see that tactic A is a lot better than tactic B. And you will learn the skills needed. Really though, just play the game and have fun...there are not enough people doing that...most are just out to "own everyone and kill everything and I am number 1 losers"....kind of thing

yeah i wonder about that...im pretty sure the game counts it towards kills then...

we should ask jeeves.....but that lazy ass butler hasn't actually answered a question in years.
