x-fi and new patch 1.21

hi !

i already contacted ea support but they dont help me.
i have installed bf2 using a x-fi fatality with game mode enabled.
all worked fine.
i purchased spf, installed the patch 1.12 & spf and x-fi worked fine.
now i recently installed the patch 1.21 and euro forces and now bf2 does NOT
detect my x-fi any more. im only allowed to choose "hardware"
i already re-installed the game in the order:
bf2->patch1.1- >spf->patch 1.21- >euro forces
as the ea support suggested and it does not help.

does anybody know what this causes ?
ea support always answers with the same text not referencing my problem
and i'm already a little frustrated.

i read many forums and discovered that other x-fi users have problems if they change the audio mode of the x-fi during patches but I never touched
my initial x-fi settings.
had never any videoissues/lags/ctd since patch 1.12

Hey what are the issues that occuring?

You don't really describe what is going on with the game. I have a strong feeling that EA, in all of their patching, has messed up/corrupted the code pretaining to Creative sound cards.

That is just a guess, but no one can really help unless more info on your problem is given.

i have noticed problems with mine, and vanilla Bf2 sooo man times. it seems to either A. happen when I plug in my headphones while bf2 is loading. B. change modes while bf2 is loading. or C. randomly do it.

I the answer it to go to creative.com and download the latest drivers and install them. dont worry about uninstalling the first, it auto-updates for you. then you restart and it will work again.

hmm, i dont have any in-game problems. sound/video/fps is just fine.
game just slows down in fps after playing a lot.
the only issue i have is that the game does not longer detect my x-fi
and therefore i don't have the full "experience" any more.

i payed not a few bucks for this card and the game/expansions and
they were advertised as being ideally for x-fi cards.

EA itself is never saying anything, just suggesting : reinstall, reinstall, reinstall

this is getting nowhere
