    dogfights

I am best fighting with my gun in the good ol fashioned way. One on one there are very few who can beat me.
What i need to know are some tips/strategies for fighting in the air. I can drop bombs ok and shoot down the odd helicopter but i seem to really get pawned when it comes to fighting other players in planes. They always seem to be able to get away and get in a position to shoot me down. I have played several ps2 air combat games before, but it's as if they know something i don't. It's not even like they are skilled in getting air kills, they just seem to be able to shoot me down pretty easy. I may actually suck at this *shrugs*.
Oh well, any tips would be great.

First and most important tip of piloting in BF2, DO NOT FLY IN A STRAIGHT LINE!!! You'll get nailed before you can even try to get away.

If you have someone behind you, try doing loops in your jet, fly low, just try to get him off your tail and get on his.

Ok if you are not posting advice, i don't wanna here your crap.
I have played for weeks in a 64 player karkand server. Most of the kills people have had on me are to do with vehicles, art and grenades. One on one not many are faster than me at pullin the trigger. Blazin is one.

With the new patches it is harded to evade missles. The best way to get away from some1 is to turn right, turn left, turn right, not doing loops since missles are so good (1.2). Is your view distance at 100% or close? if it is then stay HIGH (700) and keep looking down until you see another jet. Keep on your bombs until your right behind him, switch the missles POW POW POW hes dead. LoL

Flying style is not smething that can be shown or expalined over a forum, you will need practice in a jet. I had wasted over 100 hours as a complete moron in a jet with a very bad kill death ratio negitive I think before I finally began to understand I think in my 1st 100 hours I had nearly 2000 deaths now I only die 0 - 1 times per round.

Anyway be patient the skill will develop itself keep working at it, its just a shame new pilots have to put up with these stupid missiles and the J-10 issue they certainly have it alot harder than we used to

I also learned that developing your own techniques is the best way to go, i spend hours in a local server just practicing aiming and bombing, but Air-Air i had to learn the hard way, but trial and error.. getting owned in servers, but i soon learned the ways and i average 20/5 kill/death ratio while flying.. but there are sometimes i meet my demise and there is nothing i can do about it, a lot of great pilots out there, so thats when i just switch to ground pounding.. one tip also, the J-10 overpowers the F-35 so dont be jacked if you get shot down a lot by it... It didnt take me 100 hours in a plane to learn this, i dont even have 1000 kills yet, but im at 2/1 ratio so i think i might know something right!! Ill gladly help you out, love flying 1vs1 and sharing what i may or may not know :)

Get joytokey if you fly with a joystick that way you can use the hat switch to look around the cockpit and this gives you a far wider field of vision - I also tend to stay up as high as is possible and then I just fly a holding pattern while scanning for targets, I don't bother bombing ground targets I just look for enemy jets all the time, then, if and when they stop putting their Jets in the air (after a while pilots do just give up if their getting shot down all the time) I start bombing ground targets..
