Wow, this is incredible. I'm finally going to be able to play BF2 online! Before I had 56k and would play with 53 bots on singleplayer, now on March 28 I'm getting high speed! I've never played online, and its about damn time I start. I had a kick-ass pc but never got to use it until now. Hard to believe but I think there is a large chunk of the community that hasn't even played bf2 even though they own it. I was talking to a friend who I didn't know owned the game, but has just been waiting to get a pc good enough to run his dorment copy. Anyways it has been a real long time since I got any patches, infact, (I think last October), and was wondering if you guys could fill me in on some informatoin I might need to know? The last patch I installed had Wake Island in it. I was wondering if you guys know if I have to install all the patches or just the latest one? Yep just checked, the latest patch I installed was 1.03, anyways if you guys could include some instructions and a link to the patches that would be great. Also, I'm no newb, and have had my share of flying helocopters under bridges, and killing handfuls, so If you know of any good clan, or you are in a clan that you think would be interested in taking me under your wing, post. See ya on the battlefield!

I wish you good luck and lot of fun playing on-line. You'll see, it's a total new experience, challenging since it's harder than playing against bots, and motivating, especially since the BF2 community has probably around million members by now, worldwide. At least unlike most of us that went directly with on-line playing, you have an advantage of knowing the maps, the weapons, and some of the tricks. Now you'll learn the dirty ones .

Only 1 thing I can say to this thread. Be prepared. You are in for a shocking difference over singleplayer. Don't say I did not warn you.

Ah dont worry about it. Sometimes MP is easier than SP. Other times it may take an hour to reach the next flag cap. By the way, when looking at pics and vids, they load really fast- if you know what i mean.

Ive never played SP first. I jumped right into the deep end. Had a few friends with me in the same boat. Which is quite funny, cos you don't know where enemy are coming from, you don't know when the flag is, or how to get to it and your constantly crapping yourself and spinning around, general panic and all that jazz. I loved it. I got owned in a way that only Jesus would know about.
So you wont get owned as mush as I did, but its still gonna hurt. I might try to join you and watch :)

Do you guys play on the totalbf2 server a lot? I think that might be the first server I'll join in. High speed comes 28th, and it might take till the 29th for me to connect the modem and reconfigure my network. This is gonna be a blast, maybe you could all join the totalbf2 server the same night I do at the same time. That could be a bonding experience hahaha, anyways, do many people use VOIP?
