I wish everyone would stop pinning all their hopes on mods. Everyone expects a mod of CS calibur to just rise up out of nowhere in a few months when in reality it will take years for just a beta. Might as well pre-order BF2142 in the meantime. I don't really a difference in communities for mods or base games either. There were jerks in the early days of CS and DoD too. You can't escape human nature no matter what game you play.

I would have to say the only reason why I don't play a lot of BF Vietnam is that when you see an enmey you cant right click on your mouse and look into your sights for more accuracy and realism.

Well the bugs I'm talking about are the infrequent crashes to desktop and some of the hit detection on the AT/tank rounds. If you don't experience any bugs at all then you're lucky

How much RAM have you got? If you have less than 768 then that is a real problem. Upgrade it to 1024 because after a few hours of playing, RAM usage should be around 820MB!

I play with 1024MB ram, and I still have fired more missiles through buggies than into them.

I have 1GB of RAM in dual channel and stuttering isn't an issue for me. The hit detection bugs are independent of the amount of RAM you have, as are the CTD's.

Regarding hit detection, I seem to either have a lot of problems or almost none. It's almost as if it's dependent on your specific connection to a specific server at a specific time. Like, if I get a "bad" connection, I'll get hit detection issues non-stop. Whereas other games I have few complaints.

The other night I was sniping with the Type 88 and was close enough to my targets to see the puffs of dust fly off of their helmets. Of course, they lived through the ordeals time and again because I couldn't get the server to recognize a hit to save my life.
