Guys i am trying to get a basic knife badge , what do i need ti get it and whats the best way of going about it ?

well, a knife is a good starting point mate! i know that people will get sh!tty with me for saying so, but as far as im aware your best bet for getting the badge is to camp a spawn with your knife out and ready... i personally dont like it but i'm yet to get it any other way. -

i got both my basic and vet badge on wake island....lots of snipers up on the hills that you can stab in the back. also, there are those times when there is just a lot of chaos and confusion, you can usually just run into it all and stab someone while they are trying to hid in the trees and bushes. :pComment

I got my expert and veteran knife in Karkand, you should do the same.
Find a 64 player Karkand server, and go to the USMC team. Now Spawn at the right side base )the one with the mounted MG) and run over to the right side of the buildings, and from there run across the street into the MEC's spawn and just go balls out.

I havent gotten my basic knife either. I just hate getting shot while I'm standing there holding a knife:)
My friend just got his about a week ago in Sharqi Peninsula. He just hid in the Construction Site and waited for people to run by and he would give chase and stab them. Thats what I'm gonna try.
I know one thing after I get my basic knife I will probably never use the knife again.Comment

Karkand strategy for knife badge (how I got it last week and my vetereans too). Also works great for pistol badge.
USMC:
Run around the spawn points near the hotel flag on the left side of the map (across the street from the hotel). Don't camp the spawn point becasue you will get shot, but hide around the corner and watch the spawn points. People will come running out of those things. When they do, run behind them, not face to face and knife em in the back.
MEC:
Wait behind the gate between the USMC artillery spawn point and hotel, at the bottom of the hill. Watch for grenades and machine gun fire. When someone runs thru, again chase them and knife em in the back. Usually there will be someone following them, so once you get them, get to cover and try it again when its clear. On the side of that front building down the hill from the USMC spawn point I found a squad leader spawning people, I ran around and got 4 knife kills before I was killed.
Another technique is to hide on buildings, when a badguy comes by, drop down and knife him. You'll lose health in the fall, and the next guy will kill you, but if you jump that guy slightly from behind, he will have no footsteps to tell him your coming.Comment

for your basic the easiest is probably going to be on mashtuur, not karkand...when the other team holds the center flag, run up to the roof of the building you spawn on when you own the center flag (the one just across the street from the flag), there are always people up there and just run around and start knifing, dont stop moving because as soon as you do it will be easier for them to see your tag...also, do this as a sniper as all snipers look the same...Comment
