Planetside Reserves

Tomorrow March 24th Planetside is releasing a free one year trial to anyone who wants to d/l it. If you want to try something different it is a pretty fun game, with this new trial the game will be at its finest since this game is all about massive battles. The only thing is free account players can only get so far in level in which they can spend points to certify in different weapons & vehicles. However, the good thing about this game is that you can beat a Battle Rank 25 at Battle Rank 1 if you have more skill...so not like other MMO's with +3 to str of fairy flame.

It's free so it couldn't hurt to try.

Wow, a one year trial! That's gotta be a first aint it?

I subscribed to PS a while ago, I may just download this for fun, it was a pretty fun game. Does this include the expansions? I forget what they're called, one is an underground battle, and another one.

Yeah its a good game IMO, and they did charge a monthly fee for it so this 1 year free is tip top, although you can only go upto battle rank 8 I believe, which basically means you cant have loads of different skills only a few, but you can change your skills to something else if you want.

In all well worth the download.

This game really isn't far off what BF2142 might be like. If you like the look of BF2142, I would definitely say give this a go. It has BFR's (Battle Frame Robots, or mech's to you and me), stealth abilitys, deployable turrets and some other really cool features.

Nearly right Jammydodger, I was looking at there site and it's actually battle rank 6.

So, the drawback to this free version, is that you don't get access to some vehicles and weapons or abilities that require more points (each battle rank gives you one point to spend on these things if I remember rightly. So stealth mode for snipers might be 2 points, for example).

Then again, I think if you're only going to play the game casually, you might not get to BR6 anyway. So it's a good balance.

They don't have it up yet, I'm guessing they will be it's a huge thing on the PS forums right now screaming at the devs to get it up. They just upgraded everyone's accounts to the expansion so I guess that's a sign it'll be up soon. But hey, that's SOE for you
