Anyone have the Logitech Freedom Cordless Joystick?

Does anyone have the Logitech Freedom 2.4 Cordless Joystick, Logitech Force 3d Pro Joystick or the Logitech Extreme 3d Pro Joystick.?

I've made a few threads and I can never get anyone that has 1 of these to tell me how good/bad they are. I always get people just randomly telling me what joystick they have.

I want to know from people that have 1 of the 3 joysticks I named, how they preform,handle, if they need to be calibrated a lot..

And I need to know what exactly has to be happen with the joystick in order for the Product Replacement Plan to come into effect.

I started with the Freedom, it was given to me by a friend. It died after two months. Your mileage out of one will depend on how often you use it. If you only hop in plane or helo once in a while it may last a long time, if you fly for a couple of hours daily it will burn out pretty fast. The problem is the potentiometers, Logitech really cut corners here and used the absolute cheapest they could find. I tried to get them to send me replacement parts but they wouldn't even answer my e-mails.

I ended up buying the Extreme 3d Pro to replace the Freedom. I know it might seem strange that I would buy another of their sticks after the crappy support they gave me, but there is a catch. First, I got the first stick free so having it go bad didn't really cost me anything. Second, when I bought the new one I got the four year replacement plan from Circuit City, so now every time it dies I get a new one. So, if they continue to burn out at the rate of one every two months, Logitech is going to have to supply me with 24 new joysticks for the price of one. As far as the replacement plan kicking in like you asked, anything going wrong with it means they have to replace it. So when the pots where out and it starts giving you all kinds of erratic behavior, you get a new one.

As far as the sticks themselves I really like the overall layout of the buttons and the design of the handle. One thing I like a lot is the thumb trigger. With this and the primary trigger I can use two different weapons without ever moving my hand.

I've had both the Freedom 24 and the Force 3d. Both were fine, I liked the Freedom 24 better but didn't like its throttle (too small for my big hands).

I started out with the extreme, but i couldn't handle the cord getting in the way of everything. I returned it and got the freedom. I got it home and found out it made everything pull left. Calibrating, messing with the deadzone...none of this helped, it was to severe. So i exchanged it for another freedom and so far i havn't had any problems. Its about 4 months old. My friend also has a freedom and his died in the second month but he had a replacement plan from compusa. Cost him about $8. They gave him a new one no questions asked. He just said "it doesn't work anymore". I really like the freedom though and it performs well.

Those joysticks are good as long as they work.
Bought several ones and had to return them all later. They keep losing calibration or stop working altogether.

I have Saitek X52 and I am very happy with it.

how is saitek cyborg evo force compare to freedom?

The Saitek joystick is much better than the Logiteck joystick.

I would advise everyone just to stay aways from logitech joystick's because most of them suffer from calabration problems.

I've had a couple 2.4 cordless, but got sick of the calibration problems. I traded mine in for a Saitek X52 flight control system.

:-/ thats a $140 joystick/throttle. If you only use that for BF2 I believe your lying :-) (Unless your a weird BF2 addict.) I have the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. All I did was install and turn the settings (sensitivity, ext.) all the way up. and its fine.

EDIT: At Best Buy here it's $140. I tested it out and it really roxxed. But a little to serious for BF2.

Have the Freedom 2.4 and have logged 30 hours chopper time with no issues, calibration or otherwise....

my only gripe is i wish it wouldn't go into sleep mode so quickly.. always have to remember to wake it up before i jump in the chopper.

I have the Logitech extreme pro and it works fine. I had one for about a year then it started always pulling to the left... Calibration wouldn't fix it. I returned and and they gave me a new one at no charge. The new one's been great for about 5 months now with no problems. It works good I think!
