    getting more performance

does renaming the bf2.exe file actually increase fps? Ever since i installed my x-fi, bf2:sf runs like crap. bf2 vanilla and ef run fine though with ultra sound+xfi+EAX

Also, if i were to disable the intro movies in bf2 and bf2:sf which ones do i disable?

The only thing that I noticed when I renamed my bf2.exe file is that xfire quit showing that I was playing the game. I did not notice any performance differance. I have the creative ZS Gamer soundcard.

For the movies, they are located as follows:

    BF2 vanilla = C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Movies

    BF2:SF = C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\xpack\movies

Just add a ".org" to the end of each file in those directories.

Even easier. just rename the folders, I named them Movies2. A lot easier than renaming all the files, and works the same.

dont you need some of the movies though? I heard punkbuster will boot you if certain movies are disabled. I think it was the welcome or menue ones. Not sure

when I renamed my BF2.exe file PB didnt like it at all.

Ive renamed all the intro movie/logo files to .old so they wont play. No problems with that.

y not just rename the actual folder the movies are stored in? If it cannot locate the folder they are in it wont play them, simple.
