The way I see it, if I'm offering you a chance to live and you choose to cost the team a ticket instead, -2 points is well-justified. If better position is worth that ticket loss, you'll make up those 2 points.

    ..... Besides..... it's 2 points. Who cares?

      Re: Do Not Resuscitate Option

When I play medic I value my life so I wont run out and try to revive a guy that just got PKM'd. I know the guy I revived is just gonna be rekilled along with myself. Plus who wants to give the other guy a 3 kills for one deal:).

I think your idea is a good one in some circumstances. I have had instances where I get killed just around a corner and the medic can just reach me from behind cover. Of course he zaps me then I'm immediately mowed down again then revived rinse and repeat for about 3 times. This can be frustrating but at least he's trying to save me so I'm appreciative of the effort.

ive often thought of signing a DNR....sometimes when i die, i want to change class, and location, but am unable to....sometimes even by committing suicide, without pressing the 'suicide' button, only to be revived....then killed, then revived, etc.....when this happens, and i end up alive, i will knife the medic....lol

i dont think there should be any limit, like 2 revives etc...

I think it would be a fantastic option if, after being revived 2 times by a medic you could issue a do not resuscitate (DNR) order by clicking the right mouse button while dead. This would prevent medics from getting complete denial of revive points, but it would prevent the annoyance of having a medic revive you several times during an artilery strike or intense fire fight where you live for literlally one second. I would absolutely love to have a DNR option added to the game. Oh yes, make sure to have it be a toggle just in case someone accidentally hits the right mouse button. I suppose it would also be necessary for the DNR option to be visable for medics approaching corpses. I suggest that where you would normally see the lightning icon to show a dead soldier, you could replace it with a the same icon but with the classic red cirle with a slash through it icon. This way medics would know not to waste their time with someone who has decided to turn on their DNR option after two revives. Obviously this would reset everytime someone fully died and respawned. Please consider this option."
Forgive me if I am wrong, but when you die, if you press enter and select where you want to spawn from next, doesn't you character dissapear?

If you were in a Squad, and stayed with them, chances are you could just tell the Medic yourself via VOIP. The idea is okay, but IMO there are already devices in the game that allow you to communicate, plus there are more pressing issues that Dice should attend to. Also, like someone else mentioned, "Every Ticket Counts!"

                Re: Do Not Resuscitate Option

To my knowledge hitting enter on the map spawn point does not prevent a revive. Secondly, the suicide tactic is stupid. Yes it is only two points taken away, but I guess you are not playing in the same type of servers I am in. There are a lot of revive obsessed medics that normally are not on my squad. Obviously I tell the medic in my squad to chill. I really think it is an important option and would greatly benifit everyone. Hitting the suicide button in the middle of a fire fight is pointsless and nearly impossible, and running around with low health is no big deal because there tends to be health kits everywhere on maps like karkand and sharqi. Comiting suicide because of low health to prevent the chance of multiple revivals is quite dumb. Like someone already mentioned, when two tanks role up and you are say a sniper and you want to respawn as AT of engineer and you are revived no less than five times, it is a bit frustrating, especially when it is the same damn tank sitting there killing you all five times.

                  Re: Do Not Resuscitate Option

I've only recently started playing Medic and I must say it's glorious fun. The number of 4th places I've scored has gone up dramatically (damn armour and plane whores :) )

But I also suffer from "dead must revive it" -itis. If it's one of my squad mates I'll tell him to run his ass off. If a player knows that a revive is comming, then they can stop messing around with kit selection and score watching and they don't stand up as a zombie to get blasted again.

One problem with the "don't call for a medic" is the default medic call is the same as the shoot button. How many people here actually die when they are NOT trying to shoot someone? I'd say over 90% of the "medic !" calls are from dead guys still pressing shoot before they realise they are dead.

If there is a grand mele going on and I'm either seperated from my squad or there are other squads there I will generally revive anyone who dies, depending on the position.

If they are near a corner and I can revive them and they can possibly escape, I'll probably revive them until they can get away. Save a ticket, grab some score. Hell I'll even run across an open road to revive someone if the enemies attention is elsewhere.

However I won't run into a street that's being raked by multiple PKM's to save one person. Choose your revives properly and people will seriously thank you.

However as I'm also one of the few AT guys on the servers I play on I do know the frustration of having been revived a bunch of times in a row and I'm like "I'M OUT OF FRIKKEN MISSILES, PLEASE LET ME DIE". I support the call for a DNR. I've already taken a death, why should I sacrifice two points just so you meglomaniac Dr Frankenstines can make the dead walk?

                    Re: Do Not Resuscitate Option

Id like to see a DNR option Ive been completely out of ammo and all I've had left was my knife and medics have kept reviving me . It got so annoying for me one time i ended up stabbing the medic to stop him from reviving me out of anger . I know i should of suicide but i was getting really angry with the guy i told him in game to stop reviving me he was either a tard or couldn't read English .

                      Re: Do Not Resuscitate Option

I agree......... many many times i get revived without wanting to be. In fact, the very reason im dead, is the very reason i dont want to be revived. (4 foot in front a an enemy apc/tank anyone?)
And to the folks that say, you are denying a ticket...to bad.
I say, let me spawn elsewheres where instead of 1 ticket loss, we might gain 30 tickets.
It comes down to the medic. I mean if there is a giant chance (when im medic) that neither one or even just one of us isnt going to survive, when i revive him. Im not reviving. I lose points, but i'd rather not. Just use your head. I"ve revived within a flag radius when i though neither of would survive, however thats different. More boddies at the radius, the better chance we can get it changed.

bf stole the revive idea off castle wolfenstein, and that had a 'right click' to go back to spawn.

And yes, every single ticket does matter, games have been lost by 1 ticket.
That's only one side of the issue. Many, many, many times, the revive result's in me dying anyway, so the ticket is lost in any case. Plus, then I have to wait AGAIN to respawn costing my team time with me out of the battle, not to mention I may want to change kits to better serve the situation.

I have a friend who revives me just to annoy me. He'll do it especially if I've said, I'll respawn as AT and or SO and take out the tank. Very frustrating, but we end up laughing about it.
