What I expected is true, high ranks bugged

Sorry for the rant to EA/DICE , but sometimes they mess up things which are so easy, I can't beleive it .

So, they add new ranks, all the way up to general , and some general ranks under it, wich is nice offcourse, but nowbody has those ranks, and now some dude (he is some kind of statpadder, but that doesn't mather in this point) , he has all requirements, reaches 180.000 points, should get the rank :"major general"

but offcourse, nothing happens and he stays colonel .

now, I also look at the stats of this guy here http://bf2s.com/player/krakpip3/ , he also has all requirements , and is 500 points away from 180.000 , wonder if he will get major general rank .

What realy bothers me about this, is the fact this isn't some hardcoded stuff, it's just adding some new ranks and still DICE isn't able to get it work like it should .

Where I work, the stuff I am responsible to (many things I kinda develop myself) , it has to work , and if it doesn't work fine or like it should , I have a real problem and have to explain myself and have to guarantee it will work in a certain amount of time , but this almost never happens because I test all my stuff very hard before it gets in line , I don't know how things work in DICE but apparently , when something doesn't work, nowbody cares, nowbody does something about it, they may be very glad they don't work for my boss, they would have been fired a long time ago

They need the badges...

EDIT: You mean Major general? Wtf, why should they get a higher rank for the same amount of points if they have less badges? Now thats ****ed....

no, look at requirements, someone having all expert combat badges will get major general , and someone having all vehicle expert badges gets brigadier general .

That's because one requirement to get major general is to be brigadier general before it.... you need the previous rank to be promoted to the rank after it... jesus christ guys

That's stupid, because that would mean that you would go to Major general the instance you get Brigadier General...

don't think so, when I reached first sergeant, I skipped master sergeant because I had the badges I needed , same thing for sergeant major, I skipped master gunnery sergeant because I had the requirements .


Also, if this would be the case, this would even mean DICE screwed up even more, this because they don't know there own game, this because if you calculate it, you should at least played like 2000h to get those requirements (regarding the fact you can't always be in the vehicle you wanted, you can't stay in those vehicles without dying, ....) , so you would reach 180.000 points with a 1.5 points a min , wich is actualy someone who sucks at the game

As far as i understood the general ranks are not the same as first/master srgt.
It has always been daft that the requirements for one rank make it obselete, it would take a serious amount of effort to get all the vehicle badges and not get all the kit badges or points to skip the ranks.

People are so worked up over points and ranks. That bugs me more than all the glitches in the game. So hard to get a good game in when everyone is just worried about their next point.

he doesnt have expert armor or expert aviator, you have to have those to reach Brig General, and then the expert kit badges for the next general.

doesnt that suck, all he needs are 24 kills in armor, then he has to spend 82 hour in an airplane (with 24 kills)....not so easy anymore since 1.2

but then again those are where some of the best rounds come from... instead of the people who rin around all willy nilly, you get the serious guys who make a squad and start doing some real damage. thats the problem though, nobody ever listens to the commander, with a few exceptions(I was commanding the other day and everyone was in a squad and they were all listening to me! we won like 22something to 0 it was insane!) i think they should put some kind of incentive in there for good teamworknot sure how they would go about doing that...OH and the ranks thing, i have noticed that too. i look at the ranks of like the top 20 guys in the world,not even 1 of em are a general of any kind. kinda weird, having 300K+ points and not even being a general or nothing. they have the requirments, they just arent getting it. i also skipped Master Sergeant. had the requirments for first sergeant.so thats what i am
